Not really. This forum has had no post in two days and I just thought it should not be forgotten.

    Congratulations to Berne!!!!!!!!!!

This thread has signs of being a mill--stating one thing, yet revealing something else. <grin>

    Sod it!

I didn't bother to read the article, and couldn't wait to fill in the paperwork I have and send off my credit card details.

    Thanks a lot .....

    But ...

Nice guy - really nice guy.

Well it will be legal and valid, and it MAY be from Switzerland anyway - who'd know the difference? I got a GPA of 4.0 - that cost me another $5K, and as my mother has died [I forgot to tell them that happened in 1983], got exempted from a face to face session. Apparently the motel they used has had a rat infestation of plague proportions

Couldn't some people you wouldn't care to meet be upset with you??? Where were you in 62?

    Algerie Francaise

De Gualle came to power on the promise of keeping Algeria French. Four years later he guillotined his buddy generals for trying to do the same thing.

The reality today is France Algerienne (pardon me if the tense is wrong)

My personal favourite De Gaullism is "vivre Quebec Libre." I guess this was because De Gaulle personally defeated the German Armies and 100,000 Canadians from two wars buried in and around France had nothing to do with it.

    Re: Algerie Francaise

The schnoz was a great egotist. Apparently, he also looked down on shorter people. I have forgotten the whole story but he once asked some other tall politican "Why he was bothering to talk to some small person"(paraphrased).

All of Canada appreciated him sticking his deux cents in with regard to Quebec.

Who was the Quebec leader (when he died) of whom it was discovered that he had a warehouse full of busts of himself?

If it was any of the Parti Quebecois premiers, he probably put them on his front lawn, at Halloween to scare small children.

Sounds like it could be a Duplessis thing.

I'm not allowed to tell you where I was in '62.

The "busty" politico indeed was Maurice Duplessis.

When Joey Smallwood died he had a huge collection of John Wesley busts and other Wesley totems.

You're right (merde!) about la France algerienne.

    Great line, Gert.
