I would like information on Everglades College. They are accredited by ACCSCT. Would a degree from E.C. be a good degree to have ?

    Carlos, Welcome!

If it meets your current, present, and futures needs, then the answer is yes.

Carlos, there is pretty clear evidence (from my survey of registrars two years ago) that degrees from accreditors like ACCST are accepted (for transfer of credit, or acceptance of degree) by roughly 40% of the registrars. So, if you had a thought of going on for a Bachelor's elsewhere, this would be a factor to consider. The acceptance in the business world is probably a fair amount higher.

For maximum value for your degree and minimum hassle factor if you decide to go on with further education, a regionally accredited degree will prove the most worth while to most people.

While Everglades is not currently accredited by the Southern Association of Schools and Colleges (the Regional Accreditor for Florida) they are listed as an applicant on the SASC site.

Full accreditation could take upwards of 5 years and there is no guarantee that they will be accredited. As said above, if it meets your basic needs and goals go for it, but if you eventually plan to go into teaching or other arena where a regionally accredited degree is required, you might have to answer some searching questions and have some disappointments.
