    LIGS University, Hawaii

No USDoE or CHEA-recognized accreditation - and says so, in the required disclaimer. Accredited as Premier Institution by ASIC. Legal -unaccredited status under Hawaii laws.

Business degrees, Bachelor's through Doctorate. It's legal , so I think I can give the URL. See for yourself: LIGS University

President is Pavel Makovsky. I believe he was formerly with the European arm of this school. Fee example: MBA - $5,750 total. 2 years to pay @240 /mo.

    Lousy Institute, Great State.

Or maybe neither is quite true. I welcome competition in education .

So do I. here's some "competition" for LIGS then: William Loveland College MBA , for LESS ($4,500) NATIONALLY ACCREDITED! https://wlcollege.ilm.edu/
And University of the People MBA - NATIONALLY ACCREDITED should work out to less - tuition-free, $100 per exam. Here: Online Tuition-Free MBA Degree One Year Program in Management - UoPeople

Let's see LIGS beat THAT! Oh yes -- first they'd have to get National Accreditation.

From the LIGS site, I see that they are ASIC and so a CHEA pet. But not recognized by the US Secretary of Education . Too bad, so sad.

Nonetheless, it might be a good bet if your goal is to learn something rather than pad your CV.

If you just want to learn something then you don't need a school of any description. A well selected pile of books will do.

But then you're not being tested, graded, judged, spindled, mutilated and the rest of that stuff.

I would really like to know what is required to become an ASIC Premier Institution. The Jehovah Jireh Bible Institute of Higher Learning is an ASIC Premier Institution too. ASIC may know something I don't but Jehovah Jireh is also accredited by AAHEA, the American Association for Higher Education Accreditation; AAATI, the American Accrediting Association of Theological Institutions and last but not least by GEAC, the Global Evangelical Accrediting Commission. GEAC is run by a bloke who is a graduate of WIDU, the World Information Distributed University, Russia.

If that's important to you, make sure the school has a lig to stand on.

A positive and interesting thing: They have, on line, the rather detailed Minutes of their quarterly board meetings, going back more than 3 years. I've not seen this before.

Yeah, you're right. Given the fact that one Axact clone is listed as a member institution and another has candidacy accreditation, it's silly of me to think there actually are any requirements.

Agreed. And don't forget another Axact clone, Orlando University. It was actually accredited by ASIC for a short period. I'd certainly like to know where the site visit was carried out!
Not to be confused with a non-Axact school with exactly the same name. That school (Orlando-2?) was not accredited, but had no offshore connections I know of.

    Orlando U. (1) - Axact clone, survives here: www-dot-orlandouniversity-dot-com
Orlando U. (2) - Never an Axact "school," never ASIC either, survives here: www-dot-orlandoedu-dot-us/ As I said, it is not accredited and doesn't claim to be. Another 501(c) non-profit.

Here's a really odd coincidence - and that's ALL it is, I'm sure!

Check out these two pictures - one of Dr. David Lady, Provost of William Loveland College, and the other of Pavel Makovsky, President of LIGS U. Holy Doppelgänger, Batman!
