National University of Penal, Administrative and Security Sciences

See The Natioanl Institute of Criminal and Security Sciences

This university is the national university of the Kingdom of Bunyoro-Kitara in Uganda (as was the European-American University, now All Saints College). It is also listed as a member institution by ASIC, UK.

Bunyoro-Kitara is a bona fide traditional kingdom with a long history and a real monarch. Trouble is, I don't think the monarchs of traditional kingdoms such as this have the power, under present Ugandan law, to charter universities. Some school or other will once in a while convince one of them to go ahead and do it anyway.

IIRC, mbwa shenzi, I learned of that restriction from you. You quoted me chapter and verse of the appropriate legislation, but I can't find it right now.

I looked up All Saints College. Long way from Uganda - it's in Ireland. I saw a pic of the College's Master - Prof. John Kersey, formerly of European American U. Looks like he's enjoying life. Seems the Irish climate agrees with him.

'Way back, I seem to remember Dr. Kersey was associated with Marquess College in London.

Here's a comment on Dr. Kersey's educational background from DI in 2004:

"His graduate education included periods of study at the University of Cambridge, the Collège de France in Paris and English National Opera, as well as at Knightsbridge University, Denmark, where he was awarded the degree of PhD by published work, and Claremont University, where he was the first person to graduate with the degree of Doctor of Education . He holds an honorary doctorate from Ansted University, Malaysia and British Virgin Islands."

Whole thing is here: Linkage between Knightsbridge University & Claremont International University(Part 1)

Here's an article on the head honcho of the school in Uganda - also in Pakistan. You'll note he's a grad of St. Regis University . Yes, that's SAINT Regis , not the well-known RA Regis U.

Set a thief to catch a thief: Pakistan

It's in the "Charisma has received etc" thread, post 88, I think. Re John Kersey, yes, it was Marquess: longtimers here will remember him as partner of Sheila Danzig. One of his more recent schools is the Western Orthodoxy University.

Thanks! I appreciate it! BTW - John Kersey is remembered by longtimers, posting the early years of DI, as "Dr. Marianus." Wow, that's a long time ago!

You are right J. I was in Uganda for about 7 years. The government has recognized these kingdoms to preserve the history and tradition, but the Kings doesn't have any powers. It's more of a cultural thing.

I forgot "allegedly". I don't know how much support the UNIPASS (that's the acronym they use) actually has from the Omukama (the king) of Bunyoro-Kitara, considering the fact that he supported the establishment of the Bunyoro-Kitara Royal University a couple of years ago, a private university which may not yet have received the blessing of the government of Uganda.

    John Kersey is awesome.
Different entities he's associated with create this whole world that's so full of detail as to be almost real. In this world, Dr. Kersey is:
    1. A scholar with 3 doctorates and multiple written works
    2. Professor and president of multiple universities
    3. A bishop and Primate of his own Church
    4. Prince-abbot (in exile) of a sovereign abbey with centuries of history , originally in Uganda
    5. Legitimate Prince of Minsk(!) and pretender to the throne of Tzar of Belarus. Shame that Belarus was never a Tzardom.

This is in addition to his claimed status of classically-trained musician and conservative thinker. I have no clue how to evaluate those claims. I'm sure I'm missing some of Prof. Kersey's amazing achievements.

I bet you can't create a world where you are this amazing. Well, unless you're J. K. Rowling.

And yes, he is apparently Sheila Danzig's business partner. I know someone who used them for (legitimate) credential evaluation and was satisfied with the result (it met his immediate need). Both Ms. Danzih and Dr. Kersey are proud holders of doctorates form Universidad Empresarial; anyone who needs to evaluate the degree from there have at least one option :).

    Looked up Western Orthodoxy University.
So Dr. Kersey is also "Mar Joannes Edmundus, Primate of the Apostolic Episcopal Church and Catholicos of the West". Unbelievable. Literally, very hard to believe :)

Gotta love it. We don't discuss characters this large anymore; it was one of the biggest joys on this forum.

    https://san-luigi.org/royal-house/prince-abbot/

"His Serene Highness the Most Reverend Edmond (Professor John Kersey) is the 2nd Prince of Miensk, Vilna and All Byelorussia, and (as Edmond III) is the 8th Prince-Abbot of San Luigi in succession to the 1883 foundation of the Abbey-Principality in the Fezzan, and the 6th Mukungu (Prince-Governor) of the Ancient Abbey-Principality of San Luigi (Fizzan) in succession to this title created by the Kingdom of Bunyoro-Kitara in 1885."

I love how he succeeded to the whole bunch of titles by being an adopted son of "Prince Kermit of Miensk". Yes, really, HRH Kermit I.

The Prince-Abbott of San Luigi is also the Royal Protector of the Regency of Lomar: apparently, the Republic of Lomar became a Regency in 2003.
