I'd love to see what, exactly, he said to constitute full disclosure and transparency. If he has been disclosing to employers that his doctorate was unaccredited then I say leave him alone. Not because his degree is "good" or "legitimate" but because they accepted the risk that it wasn't when they hired him with such a statement. But I kind of doubt he was that transparent during a job search. Again, say what you will about the RA/NA debate. This guy would not be sweating right now if he had earned an Ed.D. from an NA school.
I agree. I would also like to suggest that this is a case where this man can not claim to have done a lot of work, taken courses, written a dissertation, etc. Neither can he claim that he earned or deserved a PhD because you would clearly expect that he knows what is involved in legitimately earning a real PhD. To me is seems to be a case of blatant credential fraud. I don't know very much about the law but I wouldn't be unhappy if this guy was charged legally or sued in addition to losing his job.
