    Preston

Further to what has already been said. I would also like to point out that Preston is also not a recognised UK University.

From my own personal experience I would advise looking for another university. However I may be wrong so please do your own research and find out for yourself.

A couple of years ago I had cause to try and verify a student's qualifications from Preston University. The people (person) at Preston, Wyoming (transcripts office?) were very evasive in all of their responses to me.

I initially contacted Preston, as the person had no academic background other than one of their postgraduate business qualifications. What worried me particularly was the person, despite holding a postgraduate business qualification, seemed unable to write a CV (resume). In the end I decided that the qualification was worthless.

I know most people on this board will be familiar with the www.preston.edu site but I would also like to draw people's attention to the www.preston.ac site. It's a classic, full of spelling mistakes and inconsistencies. The county of Middlesex is referred to as a city; the town of Hayes is misspelled on numerous occasions.

I know the www.preston.ac site has been mentioned before in another thread (re: confusion with the Ascension islands TLD and the UK academic Domain). However I thought interested parties might like to know that you can take a virtual tour of the Preston University Middlesex campus at: http://www.mwbex.com/locations/hayes.html

Unsurprisingly as you will see the physical address is actually registered to an serviced office rental company.

On a separate issue it should be noted that Preston University is not related to either Preston College or with the University of Central Lancashire which was once known as Preston Polytechnic, both in Preston, Lancashire, UK

For Preston College, which among its many offerings include some fairly basic level e-learning courses in Sport for Life, see www.preston.ac.uk and for University of Central Lancashire please see www.uclan.ac.uk

    Hope this helps!

    Yours,

    Brendan Fawcett

    Hi,

Amongst its other incarnations, Preston University exists under a ruler's edict in the emirate of Ajman in the UAE.

    See: http://www.preston.ac.ae/

If it offers itself for UAE Ministry of Education Accreditation (as it must to remain operating in the UAE from a physical location), it may well achieve official UAE government (hence GAAP ?) recognition in the foreseeable future.

    Cheers,

    Neil
