People who follow this site with any regularity have heard of the big degree mill scandal that has the Axact corporation at it's center. I stumbled over a list of the fake universities that Axact has been using and so I thought I'd list them. I don't know that this is a comprehensive list. Also, there are a number of fake high schools that I've not listed. I can do that if there's interest.

Adamsville University, Al Arab University, Al Khaleej University, Al Khalifa American University, Alpine University, American Gulf University, American Mideast University, Anchor Point University, Arab Continental University, Arab Womens University, Ashbery University, Accredited Degrees Pro, Ashley University, Bakerville University, Barkley University, Baycity University, Bay View University, Baytown University, Belltown University, Branton University, Brooklyn Park University, Brooksville University, Cambell State University, Camp Lake University, Chapel University, Columbiana University, Creek View University, Crestford University, Fast Online University, Fort Jones University, Galewood University, Gibson University, Glenford University, Grant Town University, GreenLake University, Grendal University, Hadley University, Hansford University, Harvey University, Headway University, Hill University, James Adam University, James Harding University, Johnstown University, Kennedy University, Kingsbridge University, Kings Lake University, Laurus University, Madison Hills University, Mayfield University, McFord University, McGraw University, McKinley University, Midtown University, Mount Lincoln University, Nelson Bay University, Nicholson University, Nixon University, Northern Port University, Northway University, Olford Walters University, Panworld University, Paramount California University, Parkfield University, Payne Springs University, Pine Hill University, Pittsford University, Port Jefferson University, Queen City University, Queens Bay University, Ray University, Redding University, Riverwood University, Rochville University, Roseville Community College, Thompson University, WalesBridge University, Walford University, Western Advanced Central University, Western Valley Central University, Westland University, Wilburton University, Wiley University, Wilford University, Willington University, Windham University, Woodbridge University, Woodfield University, Woodrow University

This is the best in the list: Fast Online University

It's the most truthful and "accurate" in the bunch.

Yeah, so I wonder what you'd get is you systematically did a search on LinkedIn (or some similar site) for each of those schools? Thousands of names.

So I picked one at random, the University of Fostershire, and I just plugged it into google. Without providing links I can tell you that they have a facebook page and a youtube video propaganda as well as several testimonials from people who are allegedly students/professors. I haven't actually loked at them but they're there. I guess I shouldn't be surprised that those sorts of recruiting tools are still in place.

They certainly are high visible, except that I wasn't able to locate a website for the school itself.

The website isn't active, and registration expires in a month or so, I think. It's a standard Axact URL: www dot universityoffostershire dot com. Like almost all other Axact sites, it's hosted on a dedicated server.

Heard anything further on Axact-related media allegations re: possible involvement of American schools? Confirmations? Denials? Ripostes? Examples:

    (1) Paramount California U. Mentioned here and elsewhere: http://www.nytimes.com/2015/05/23/world/asia/pakistan-widens-inquiry-into-fake-diplomas.html?_r=0

A quote: "Mary, a businesswoman in Dubai who wanted to be identified only by part of her name, said she spent $210,000 with Paramount California University in the hope of a genuine third-level business qualification."

    (2) University of Atlanta. Mentioned in this story: Man spends Dh250,000 on fake degree | GulfNews.com

A quote: "Towards the end, they told me that they will be transferring all my credits to the University of Atlanta..."

No, I haven't heard anything. But Paramount California University disappeared very fast from ASIC's international directory and so did its website. There is, however, a new PCU website, where alumni of PCU are complaining about the criminal acts of two previous board members and asking people to provide information about their whereabouts. I don't know if it's a coincidence or not, but Paramount California University went missing completely immediately after the NYT article about Axact was published.

Funny thing the URL is still valid and serves up a blank page, not an error or "Go Daddy-esque" coming soon.

Not loving on University of Atlanta here but they are not on the Axact list and are only mentioned because the interviewee said their name. Could he have been mistaken? Could the Axact folks have lied to him? There is nothing else to disparage University of Atlanta. Sure they've done some "interesting" things in the past but are you stretching here to simply toss them on the smoldering pile as well?

No. As I wrote, I was asking if there were any further media allegations, since the mention in the article. As to your questions - Could the guy have been mistaken about U. Atlanta? Certainly - looks like he was helped (by Axact) to make a whole series of expensive mistakes. Could Axact have lied to him? Oh-my-gosh! I take it that's a rhetorical question. Of course they could!

I haven't seen any other Axact-related references to this school, so the whole thing now looks like some kind of misinformation. One thing for sure - I did notice U. of Atlanta has retained its ASIC accreditation (unlike PCU) so I presume they must be doing things right.

Followup -- for my own curiosity, I did quite a bit of searching for articles mentioning U. of Atlanta. I was unable to find ANY OTHER press source that mentioned the school in any context involving Axact. So, that does it. No story here, folks...

That's really rich. I especially liked the revived "Nixon University." Stephen Colbert has to be the funniest person on the planet. Proud fan, here...
