We have dealt with this topic - at length - more than once. And posters knowledgeable about Indian education have assured us about its less-than-wonderful degree status.

An appalling number of Indians and foreigners, including Americans, have used these "medical degrees" to lie and bungle their way along, pretending to be skilled practitioners - often in mainstream, allopathic medicine. Some have landed in jail as a result. I feel they deserved it. Every one of them!

A notable, quotable quote, from our expert on Indian higher education:

"One thing for sure - this institution IS NOT AUTHORIZED by any accrediting organizations in India to grant degrees."

See this thread on the school.

No, thanks. Not today - not ever!

Oh..ya...you can treat common cold, minor burns, bruises etc using their credentials (or not).

And of course, some states in India allows RMP (Rural Medical Practitioners) to issue medical certificates (mandatory for civil servants for a sick leave). The RMPs (just like a medical assistant) existed a while ago to treat minor ailments especially in the rural areas. They are extinct now.

If you try to anything else with these credentials, you don't know what you are risking.

One more reason to hate this vacuous phrase. No, not everything is about "balance", some things are about embracing the good and rejecting the bad.
