The HEIFoundation site looks like it came from the same template as the many well-known degree-mills emanating several-a-week from Karachi, Pakistan. And the misuse of English matches them. Here's a partial profile of one of the um...honorees:

    "Vikram Chauhan

Mr Chauhan has been a fine art chauvinist and has made incredible accomplishments in the field of art."

Congrats to Mr. Chauhan - chauvinist of the year?

At least they're honest - the "examples" are all FAKE. From the (very) fine print:

"DISCLAIMER. The examples posted in success stories are general in nature and are depicted herein solely for purposes of increased clarity about HEIFoundation and its Nomination Process. Individuals and organizations depicted herein are fictitious and no association with any real individuals and organizations is intended or should be inferred..." (Emphasis mine - Johann)

A further quote: "The officials at HEI are still not savvy yet." Another moment of blurted truth!

A "whois" check shows the HEIFoundation site was created in 2010 and is hidden behind a privacy screen. What a surprise! The "universities" that confer the doctorates are not mentioned anywhere - and I'm not going on their "live chat" to ask. Anyone here can, if they so desire.

I strongly suspect that these "universities" may belong to the infamous "Belford Group." I have names for about forty of those fake schools; more appear weekly.

No connection to the "HEI Charitable Foundation", which is a legitimate organization based in Honolulu and associated with Hawaiian Electric Industries.
