    My three schools dont seem to be listed on degreeverify. Is there another place to verify my degrees from Amberton University, USNY/Excelsior college, Saint Leo University?

    According to National Student Clearinghouse, which runs degreeverify.org :

    So it's pretty unusual to strike out with three different schools. This presumably means that the responsibility of degree verification falls to the school itself.

    You may have to check with each school, probably in the registrar's office, to see their procedures for this. They can certainly provide degree verification in the form of a transcript in response to a written request -- but that's a hassle, takes time (because "snail mail" is involved), and provides more info than is needed. Hopefully the schools have established some system for quick "yes/no" answers in response to faxed or emailed verification requests.

    You might ask the schools why they don't participate in the fast, convenient, and inexpensive degreeverify program. Seems like schools should have two strong incentives for participation:

    First, graduates of non-participating schools could be at a disadvantage, because their degrees can't be verified as easily as those held by graduates of participating schools;

    Second, someone fraudulently claiming a non-existent degree might be more likely to choose a non-participating school, due to the increased hassle of verification.

    Funny they only list a few hundred schools on their site.

    You're correct they do. I just don't like the fact they don't list my school ;)

    :p You should be glad that your school isn't a member. I don't like the idea of schools providing all of that personal information to a private company that is primarily overseen by members of the education finance community.
