    Hello,

Ok so heres the deal...I am interested in obtaining a NA Criminal Justice AA from California Coast University with hopes of then attending a RA online school. I was wondering what RA online schools would accept this AA? I am not interested in group work as I have heard that some people are lazy and dont pull their weight, so UoP is out of the question. I also dont want to participate in "online discussions" either. I just want to do my work and tests and be done as quickly as possible.

    Anyone have any ideas?

I just finished my AS in CJ from Andrew Jackson University. I was very happy with the staff they have. I don't know much about CCU but many members here have and are very happy with the degrees they earned. I'm not sure if CCU does this or not but AJU gives 15 hours of college credit for you peace officer certification (academy) at the associates level and 30 hours at the Bachelors level.

Why not go for an Associate's from one of the Big Three (no group work required) and not worry about transfer?

The person would have to go for a Bachelor's from them for that to work. Just because one of the Big Three will award you an Associate degree doesn't mean that all other regionally accredited schools will accept everything that went into one as transfer credit for a four year degree.

But I know Charter Oak State College, one of the Big Three, has a major push for criminal justice. Frothy may want to contact them and just ask about doing an AA then a BA.

That was my point; wrap it up all in one swoop, and there's no worrying about transfer credit.

    The big three?

Oh and the reason I wanted to do the whole NA to RA is to save some money.

The big three are schools that let you earn credit by using clep exams and such.

    Are you a police officer?

Thomas Edison State College - Thomas Edison State College

    Excelsior College - Home - excelsior.edu

Charter Oak State College - Charter Oak State College - Finish Your Degree Online

It's very possible you could complete a degree from the Big Three for cheaper cost than an NA program, depending on transfer credit, how you would earn new credit, etc.

    No, not yet ;)

Right now I am working in the investigations dept. at a major retailer. A lot of PD's are on a hiring freeze so I'm just waiting.

i checked out COSC....see the thing I like about CCU is that i DONT have to participate in "blackboard" discussions. I just want to do my work and be done. I dont want to have to talk to others hahaha.

Sadly, a lot of professors / schools associate discussion board activities with showing comprehension of the material, which I can vouch for first hand as being the furthest thing from the truth.
