What do you make if this statement,"...is accredited (on probation) by the American Psychological Association (APA)"? Will it hurt other schools chances that may have been looking at/hoping for APA accreditiation?

The School of Psychology offers the only Clinical Psychology doctoral program utilizing distributed delivery of many program components and is accredited (on probation) by the American Psychological Association (APA) (APA Commission on Accreditation, 750 First St. NE, Washington, DC 20002, 202.336.5979). The Clinical Psychology program received the initial accreditation by the APA in 1991.Clinical Psychology Certificate, Psychology Program for Psychologists

Here is the definition of the term from the APA website:

3."Accredited, on probation" is considered by the CoA to be an adverse action. It designates an accredited program which, in the professional judgment of the CoA, is not currently consistent with the G&P. Programs on probation will be given a time certain by which they must remedy identified deficiencies. The intent of this category is to inform the public that the program has issues that need to be addressed.
