Well, it seems more than a little suspect to me that the members of the board of IDEAL all represent the universities that are accredited by IDEAL ... conflict of interests much?

    Compare:

    Board | IDEAL

    with

    Members | IDEAL

Maybe, but the situation is pretty much the same with accreditors in the United States.

Except that some (if not all) RAs have public members on their boards of directors. One third of WASC's board are public members (way back one was from the company I worked for).

It seems a bit more suspect to me here, I mean where is the accountability if there is a 1:1 relationship between the accreditor's board members and the schools they accredit?

Akamai is in Hawaii. If they want to be taken seriously when they claim to be accredited, they should go to WASC or DETC.

There's lots of information available on this site by using the search function:

    http://www.degreeinfo.com/search.php?searchid=27667

(well it seems that the search thread died but if you plug Akamai into the search engine you'll get a whole bunch of threads on that topic)
