I will be getting my MBA from Columbia Southern Univ. by the end of the year. I want to enter into a PhD program after that. I am trying to determine if I should just enter another Master's prgram at a RA school and then get the PhD later (ugh) or is there somewhere that will take a NA MBA? I haven't had much luck finding schools thus far.

Found my own answer, I think

I continued to search after my original post and I hate to say I think UOPX is my answer. They are regionally accred. now but I have some reluctance to go with them. Well, if it prevents me from having to get another Master's degree and allows me to start this new chapter of my life sooner then I guess I should go with this option.

There is another thread in the main board that questions the utility of a UoP doctorate. Make sure that it is going to be worth your investment and effort.

You don't ask, you don't get

You're right to ask about this, but another thing I would do is to figure out what school you actually want to attend regardless of this issue, and contact them to ask whether they'll consider admitting you anyway. The worst thing they can do is say no, so you have nothing to lose.

I have to agree with Steve. Based off of schools webs sites there was no way an unaccredited school would take Nations in to a RA master’s program. I called a bunch of schools after starting Nations and found a bunch that would let me in. I chose to work on my undergrad from an accredited school. But like Steve said just call you might be surprised about what you find.

Hey, have you posted the list of schools that were receptive to degrees from Nations? They come up a lot, so it sounds like that would be really useful to a lot of people!

I got the information from University of Phoenix. After a period to think about it, I would rather get a 2nd Master's degree at this point. The counselor actually did more to convince me that I don't want to enroll there simply because of her lack of attention to detail. The program did seem to be intense but I wasn't convinced I could pay for that much tuition in 3 to 6 years.

I plan to go to Amberton for their MS in Human Res. Training and Development. Hopefully after that, I can take the Bellevue PHd in Human Capital Management which really seem like more suitable fits for me. At least I can say I am very interested in this course of study. So here's to a few more years of school!

Hopefully I have luck using my DETC MBA securing some sort of employment.

ugh Why doesn't Charter Oak do Master's program???? lol

There might be an alternative that is a bit unorthodox. Deakin University is a well respected university in Australia. They have a PhD program in Business that can be completed through distance learning. While they are fully accredited by the Australian government they are also accredited by DETC. I expect that means they would accept a DETC accredited Masters degree as an admissions credential. You'd just have to be willing to earn a non-US doctorate.

    Course search

Another similar alternative would be UNISA.

Bellevue University will take a nationally accredited Master's degree to enter into its regionally accredited Ph.D in Human Capital Management. This is a great school; I'm planning on enrolling in the Ph.D program in the spring :D

MBA -Human Capital Management, Bellevue University 2011
    BS in Business, Bellevue University
    AAS, ITT Technical Institute

Yes it's very misleading. I might ask again. Maybe the guy didn't know what Imeant lol... I said my degree will be from a DETC school maybe he didn't know what that meant. :rolleyes:That could excuse him from blatantly going against the published info. on their site

You should def. ask another representative. When I was researching schools for my Master's I asked a representative from UNA if they accepted NA degrees. I was told no, but their site didn’t agree. I called to ask another rep (one who has been there longer) and was told that rep that UNA does accept NA degrees. So it really depends on if that rep knows what they are talking about.
