I would like to ask information for my daughter who want to study at Hampton University. She is Vietnamese but her brother is Vietnamse American living in Virginia. The questions I would like to ask are:

    - Do Hampton University accept international student (i.e. Vietnamese student) to study in the school?

    - How much does it cost for pursuiting an bachelor degree in the university? As I know, the annual tuition and fees is about $16,000, which mean total tuition and fees for 4 years studying will be $64,000 at minimum.

    - Could you introduce some inexpensive university (on campus) nearing Hampton, Virginia that would accept international student.

Pls. help me since I have no one living in USA to ask for such questions.

    Thanks.

    vuminhtu,

Is there any reason your daughter wants to study at Hampton University? I am sure Hampton University accepts International Student for admission as long as he or she qualifies. Hampton University is known for one of the Black historical institution; therefore, I don't see why is not accepting minority. For more information on International student at Hampton University CLICK HERE.

The institution does not specify the tuition and fee for international students on the site. As I assume Int'l students pays the same amount, according to the tuition charge. I recommend to contact them directly for the answer you're looking for.

There are many colleges around this area; perhaps, George Mason University is popular for international students. Especially from India, and I see many Vietnamese-American attends at GMU. Other institution include Old Dominion University, University of Virginia, University of Richmond, Regent University, Norfolk State University are around the area.

Doesn't your daughter's brother "your son" know anything about colleges?

That's not surprising, since Northern Virginia has a huge Vietnamese population, and George Mason University is the public university here. It's right next to Washington, D.C., about three hours' drive from Hampton.

Here is another idea for your daughter:
She could attend a community college such as this one
TNCC : Degree and Certificate Offerings
Then transfer to a 4-year school. A way to possibly reduce costs.
