    American Academy of Project Management
    From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The American Academy of Project Management is a professional Board of Standards for project management professionals. It was formed in 1999, and is an affiliate of the newly formed International Project Management Commission. The AAPM has been listed and disclosed as a training and certification provider with the US Department of Education EROD Directory
The AAPM board is the certifying body internationally and regulates standards and requirements for certification, masters certification and membership. The AAPM Board and International Project Management Commission are founded and based in the USA. All certifications and masters qualifications are officially issued from the USA Board of Standards.

    Are they recognized?

I actually applied to this one, got an offer for the certification the same day I applied without any proof of qualifications. The certification name is very close to the recognized one from PMI so you can tell it was designed to deceive potential employers.

The wikipedia article was most likely written by them too so I wouldn't trust it. It is basically a money making machine providing instant certifications for people wanting to boot a resume but the credential itself has no value.

    Thanks

I seen info about them on another channel and on university of Atlanta web site.
If they don't verify resume and willing to provide credential, then its not for me.
    I will concentrate on PMI(PMP).

A valid alternative to PMI is the International Project Management Association (IPMA: http://www.ipma.ch/) and it's US arm American Society for the Advancement of Project Management (ASAPM: www.asapm.org). Some large international companies (Shell being an example) have a preferrence for IPMA certification over PMI.
