Corllins University
Anyone heard of Corllins University? http://www.corllinsuniversity.com -
It looks like a lot of money to spend for a program which lacks real accreditation.
"Accreditation Panel for Online Colleges and Universities (APTEC)" smells fishy. -
The website says they awarded more than 50,000 degrees in 2002. That would make them one of the largest universities in the world. As Jack Benny used to say at such times, "Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm." -
It's not recognized by CHEA or the U.S. Dept. of Education . Another Mill... based from that fact that they offer 'life experience ' degrees. ___________________________

Going on to say -
About the staff:
218 faculty members
65 administrative staff
60 student support services staff
Total degrees awarded 2002:
54,000 including all programs and courses, representing
273 different majors for bachelor degrees
240 different majors for master's degrees
273 different majors for doctorate degrees
273 different majors for associate degrees
Numbers which appear to be complete and total fabrications. Not very well thought-out lies either, since they seem to be boasting more majors than professors.
Despite supposedly fielding 273 doctoral majors (far more than Berkeley) and awarding 54,000 degrees a year, the thing only manages to generate about 350 Google hits which seem to consist almost entirely of advertising posts.
It didn't generate any .edu hits at all, so real American universities haven't even noticed it. It didn't generate any .ac.uk hits either.
Despite the hundred of doctoral programs, Google Scholar has never heard of it.
It doesn't seem to have a physical location, certainly not one that the perpetrators are eager to talk about, since their 'contact' page is just an online form. How can any student in his or her right mind even contemplate sending thousands of dollars to an "online university" without having any idea where it's located and what country's degrees they will be receiving?? Right, award'em a doctorate.
Whois isn't much help either, since the corllinsuniversity.com website registration is anonymous. Does anyone know of ANY legitimate university anywhere in the world whose website registration is anonymous? | | | | | International Academy of Design Technology | International Academy of Design and Technology

I have also just looked at Corllins University. I chatted online directly with an agent named Cody. (Perhaps they are all Cody?)
I cant find a single reason to 'buy' this degree. I would be concerned that I could even find myself Jobless as the Degree could be fraudulent. If anyone can shed light on this, I would be grateful.
Seems that either they have found a legal gap, or.... Either way, I would like to have the knowledge that a Degree ensures. | | | | | Paralegals and Legal Assistants | Paralegal and Legal Assistant Degrees
One of a paralegal's most important tasks is helping lawyers prepare for closings, hearings, trials, and corporate meetings. Paralegals might investigate the facts of cases and ensure that all relevant information is considered. They also identify appropriate laws, judicial decisions, legal articles, and other materials that are relevant to assigned cases. After they analyze and organize the information, paralegals may prepare written reports that attorneys use in determining how cases should be handled. If attorneys decide to file lawsuits on behalf of clients, paralegals may help prepare the legal arguments, draft pleadings and motions to be filed with the court, obtain affidavits, and assist attorneys during trials. Paralegals also organize and track files of all important case documents and make them available and easily accessible to attorneys. •Job opportunities are projected to be better-than-average with strong employment growth; however, competition for jobs is expected.
•Formally trained, experienced paralegals should have the best employment opportunities.
•Most entrants have an associate’s degree in paralegal studies, or a bachelor's degree in another field and a certificate in paralegal studies. | | | | | | -

Applied and watch out.
They sound fishy. I filled out the online application (no, did not give them payment info, I was fishing). Part of the application info is "what is a good time to call". I put in there 1500 central. Half an hour later, at about 1130 PM central a phone number with a Florida area code appeared on my phone. I answered it and some old guy (who sounded like he was on his seceond six pack) called and wanted to discuss my application. Seems to be a boiler room operation with a nice web site. -
The students graduating and statistics looks very familiar to the almeda/rochville sites, ... not saying they are the same but could be -

Said friend is a former MP, and he says he'll be taking this up with relevant government officials. | | | | | International Academy of Design Technology | International Academy of Design and Technology

This prestigious institution's website and its equally prestigious "accrediting agency's" website are registered to the same address (fancy that!).
After all, why have an accrediting agency merely recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA), when you can have recognition by the obviously superior Higher Education Accreditation Council (HEAC)?
At least the website looks pretty good. Anthony Piña, Ed.D.
