This is a response to ssin and other former students.

It was mentioned on the unofficial WNU/KWU board that at least one University is willing to accept credits from Warren National University.

Grand Canyon University, an accredited Christian school located in Arizona has informed at least one former student that credits may be accepted.

    See WWW.GCU.EDU.

The contact name I was given is Larry Biffin at Grand Canyon University (866-999-5190 - E-mail: [email protected])

In a related story, a NASA representative has stated that a giant meteor may soon destroy the earth.

    Hello all.

This is Larry from GCU. I found this post on the web and just wanted to pop in and say hi.

I would like to be able to offer additional insight to the WNU situation but most of what I know about the school has come from my own research and my communication with the students I have helped transfer over.

In terms of the transfer policy and its relation to WNU, it appears that the higher ups have made some type of arrangement to be able to accept the credits that students had previously earned while attending wnu/kennedy western. I don't know the specifics of how or why it's allowed but I do know that wnu had been working on obtaining proper accreditation and their closure as far as I understand was not related to this. My understanding is that there were some financial issues with the school which was why they closed their doors. I have been told by my managers that we have a window to accept these credits. This will be up to and including the start of our fall semester.

So, if there are some of you out there who have credits or a degree from WNU and wish to continue on with your education and use those credits feel free to contact me with any questions you might have. I am a counselor here and can assist you throughout the process.

I can be reached by email at [email protected], by phone 866-999-5190

or you can submit your information directly to me by accessing my web page with GCU : http://www.gcu.edu/ec/lbiffin

hello all, this is Larry Biffin. I found this forum because my name had been mentioned. If someone from WNU is interested in transferring into an accredited program with the ability to use those credits from WNU please give me a call and I can discuss your options with you. I noticed my number and email have already been posted above.

Perhaps somebody should make a formal report with the North Central Association.

I can't imagine that they would be excited about a regionally accredited school granting transfer credits from what is pretty clearly at this point a mill.

I wonder what sort of cash or other incentives were traded between Warren National/KWU and Grand Canyon's senior staff to facilitate this?

And... on top of it, a Christian school involved with this sort of shady business? Hmmmmm.

What is the process involved in acceptance of WNU credits - does the apllicant have to submit a portfolio, pass a challenge exam, or what?

I'm sure posters on this site would appreciate this information. As you can see posters include students, faculty, school administrators, and people with a genuine interest in DL.

    Thanks

Warren National University was pretty clearly a diploma mill. For example from a GAO investigation, Claudia Gelzer was an investigator and testified that Kennedy Western gave her life experience credit covering 43% of a master's in environmental engineering. This was based only on her application with Kennedy Western not checking any of her claims. With 16 hours of effort she was able to pass two classes which was 40% of the total remaining coursework required for her master's.

It is shameful if Grand Canyon University is really accepting credits from this place.

Good questions. Only don't expect ol' Larry to answer them because he's just a rubber stamp. Doesn't know anything, just following orders.

Chip's note is right. Shine a spotlight on this process and it will evaporate.

    Another new state, Number 6?

Welcome to Colorado, home of Warren National University transcript services, from their website, which has been neutered down to 1 page. Transcripts are originating out of:

The statement "may be accepted or may be transferred" is usually there to encourage a person to enroll.

I seen the same stated in email from WGU to some of my friends with foreign degrees,

Then a real process begins, application fee $60 non refundable and official transcripts mailed from the universities etc.
Then there is an official review of all submitted documentation.

The enrollment process is also a source of job security and income for enrollment councilors and others in the universities.
They are interested that as many people as possible apply.

There is no obligation to accept any one.

I wander if GCU is the same way?

    WNU or KWU Transcripts

Has anyone ordered transcripts from WNU? I am just curious if the order form is a scam to send them more money, or if they actually send the transcript to the place you request. Thanks!

I would guess that they are doing it to get more money. I would also assume that the transcripts would be sent as requested? All are my guesses and opinion.

To finally respond to this very old thread...

Grand Canyon accepting transfer credit sort of makes since if they were Warren National credits and not Kennedy Western credits, but perhaps even the latter.

One Kennedy Western's biggest problems (in my opinion) was that they required very few classes to earn whole degrees.

The individual courses ostensibly required some work; there were just too few of courses required to earn the conferred degree and way, way too many different degrees offered.

If Grand Canyon is offering some transfer credit for actual course work completed, then that could work.

Chill out, Man... Their RA status is not in jeopardy.
