    Call me skeptical, but I was always suspicious of Tara Fields, one of the interventionists on A&E's Intervention, who lists a Ph.D. in Psychology because it seems like she goes out of her way to avoid listing the school which awarded her the Ph.D. and claims to be a marriage and family therapist rather than a psychologist;

    The mystery is finally solved.....drum roll please......Columbia Pacific University;

    If one is embarrassed to list the source of a college degree, why make any reference to it at all? :confused:

    I haven't heard her show, but I got stuck reading that she was "divorced" and "childless." Isn't that inconsistent with being a "marriage and family therapist?" LOL ???
    Totally aside from her mill degree, I never have been a fan of people using titles with their first name. Dr. Tara? Some chefs do it too, I find it highly annoying. (Chef Tony) gag.

    Oh geesh....I totally missed that, great point! :D

    Bruce's 100% non-scientific guesstimation research reveals that about 50% of people who use "Doctor" as a cutesy nickname are a fraud or have a less-than-wonderful degree. :p

    What about Dr. Phil? :p hehe couldn't resist!

    Perhaps someone should contact A&E and tell them about their less then credible 'Dr."?

    Because of experts like these the teachings and popularity of a real giant like Sigmund Freud, physiologist, medical doctor, psychologist and father of psychoanalysis are in decline.
    The lilliputians with their feel good degrees and popular psychology "crap" excuse my language are a temporary phenomena and I see return to real psychological and psychoanalytic science in the future.

    I would suppose that one could learn from one's mistakes.

    Divorce? Possibly.

    However, if one does not have children, they are uniquely unqualified to speak on issues of raising children. Take it from someone with several years experience in the subject. ;)

    Ha! I'm a "show me" type of gal. I'm married (15 years) with 4 children, so pardon me for shunning the "insight" she got in a mill. ;)

    John: I think I'd raise that to 93% for people who are known as 'Doctor [First name].'

    Relativity: Doctor Al
    Psychotherapy: Doctor Sigmund
    Analytical psychology: Doctor Karl
    Contract With America: Doctor Newt
    Boots: Doctor Klaus

    Leland Milton Goldblatt, if you please. :p

    Not true - I don't have children but I do have 14 nieces and nephews and witnessed everyone elses mistakes. My mother always tells me I'm a know-it-all ;) Does that work?

    Witnessing disasters with detached amusement doesn't count. :p

    This made me chuckle. There is an interesting phenomena regarding children that I have both observed and experienced. I have chatted with other parents, and many experienced this too....Something about
    having the answers until you have the children. :)

    Bruce, I think you just summed up police work in a nutshell. "witnessing disasters with amused detachment"... Priceless. It should be on the sides of our cars. I wonder what that looks like in fancy Italic script in Latin?

    My suggestion for a department motto apparently didn't go over too well;

    "120+ Years of Service, Unhindered by Progress". :D

    I guess you have a point...like watching a game show and knowing all the answers but freezing up when you're the one on the show ;).
