I wasn't sure quite how to title the subject of this post, but here goes...

If an unaccredited religious school is a member of a reputable religious organization would that add to its credibility?

I was thinking of schools being members of organizations such as...

    World Reformed Fellowship
    http://www.wrfnet.org/

The Association for Biblical Higher Education
    http://abhe.gospelcom.net/

    National Association of Evangelicals
    http://www.nae.net/index.cfm

    And other such organizations.

    What are your thoughts?

No, no, yes, no, and no - in that order.

WRF is a credible organization, but it is not an accreditor. Moreover, if an unaccredited school attemted to use WRF to gain credibility, Sam Logan himself would probaly come out kicking ass.

ABHE (formerly AABC) is an accreditor approved by both US-DoEd and CHEA. A full member school would, by nature, not be unaccredited.

NAE? Its a credible organization, but anyone can join NAE, and many degree mills have already used their name in an attempt to deceive.

As for "other such organizations," you're being too broad. As a general rule, however, organizational memberships mean nothing when it comes to a school's credibility.

Thanks for the response, i thought that would be how it would play out.

What about The Association of Reformed Theological Seminaries ...
    http://www.artseminaries.org/

It does not appear to be listed by CHEA, but i know that many Reformed denominations accept this accreditation.

What would be the general acceptance? Would it be generally accepted because other accredited schools (Reformed) accept it, or would it not be accepted because it is not CHEA recognized?
