    Third St. Clements University Ministry of Education Approval
    The Ministry of Education in Liberia has provisionally approved St. Clements University in Liberia to operate as a Campus University as from the 8th of October. This provisional approval is for 6 months and is subject to the Liberian Parliament chartering St. Clements University – Liberia within this period of time. In the past three months St. Clements University has gained two Ministry of Education approvals. Dr. Paula Kamara has been working on developing St. Clements University – Liberia. The authorities in Liberia want St. Clements University to be a Campus University before they will consider us operating as an Open University in Liberia. A small five-classroom Campus School has been set up in Monrovia and an act of Parliament has been drafted for presentation to the Liberian Legislature.

    The following Academic Councillors have been appointed:

    St. Clements University joins Arab Network for Open and Distance Education
    St. Clements University has been accepted for membership by the Arab Network for Open and Distance Education. The United Nations Educational Division Bureau sponsored this body and its headquarters are on the Campus of Al – Quds Open University in Amman – Jordan. It has Permanent Observer status with following organisations:

    a- United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).
    b- Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (ALECSO).
    c- Association of Arab Universities (AARU).
    d- Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO).
    e- International Council for Distance Education (ICDE).
    f- Asian Association of Open Universities (AAOU).
    g- Arab Association for Technical Education (AATE).

    Dr. Shaher Al Soqour and Dr. David Le Cornu have become individual members of the Network.



    St. Clements University Campus Centre – Niue joins the United States Distance Learning Association
    St. Clements University Campus Centre – Niue applied to join the United States Distance Learning Association and has been accepted as a member. The USDLA is listed in the DETC Handbook as an educational agency.

    “The United Distance Learning Association is a non-profit organisation formed in 1987. The Association’s purpose is to promote the development and application of distance learning for education and training. The constituents we serve include Pre-K through grade 12 education, higher education, home school education, continuing education, corporate training, military and government training and telemedicine.” Their website is www.usdla.org
