I run in to the following resume on the Internet.

I see 3 unaccredited degrees (some are closed by court order and listed as diploma mills) are used by ex police officer.

    But wait, there's more!

Excerpting from the subject's list of Awards, Recognitions, and Publications, further down:

Honorary Doctorate – United Faith Ministry (1995)
Scientific Degree of Doctor of Philosophy (hc), World Information Distributed University (March 2006)
Full Professor, World Information Distributed University (March 2006)
Professor, Wyzszej Szkoly Humanistycznej w Warszawie Warsaw, Poland (March 2006)
Professor, Kolegium Edukacji Praktycznej College of Practical Education, School of International Commerce and Finance (GSBE-HSICF) Warsaw, Poland (March 2006)
Named to the list of OUTSTANDING PERSONS, RESEARCHERS & PROFESSORS (WIDU) (March 2006)
Doctor of Humanities (hc), NCI Bible College, Decatur, AL

And the article, "Non-traditional Education for Traditional Police Officers," Law and Order Magazine 12/95.

It seems like a sad case of somebody with much apparently to their credit, but...

One has to imagine he'd be well set towards redeeming himself if he scrubbed out the unaccredited degrees and started again with a legitimate, standards-based Big Three degree.

Please Kindly Give Dr. Stepp a Break

I happen to know Waylon personally. He is a very nice guy, but we have not always seen eye to eye. He is very ill and struggles with terminal brain cancer. His prognosis is extremely guarded to poor, so please cut him some slack. Maybe one day under similar circumstances, someone will do the same for you.

Learner, I Guess You Are Referencing La Salle University!

It seems that LaSalle University was the subject of another case recently and justice was served when the judge awarded Paul McKenna a huge settlement for saying his degree was bogus. The climate regarding one's right to use an unaccredited degree is once again being challenged.

And lastly his Honorary Doctorates from United Faith Ministries and NCI Bible College is protected under separation of church and state.

Nice guys can't be academic frauds? Terminal cancer is an excuse for dishonesty? Although I agree that we shouldn't bother prosecuting someone with terminal cancer for something like this, it doesn't mean he's somehow earned my respect by claiming a questionable degree no matter how sick he is.

P.S. If I ever get so sick that I decide to become an academic fraud, please shoot me in the head rather than supporting/enabling my fraud.

If a brain tumor was affecting his judgment, then in my opinion, yes it is.

I feel bad for posting this post and if knew this persons condition I probably wouldn't post it.

I was simply surprised with a collection and bold display of all the unaccredited degrees with open to everyone resume on line.
