Does anybody have any information about this university? Is it an accredited university by a recognised accrediting agency and does it have a web site

I did a quick google search and could not find it in Arkansas. (That doesn't mean I didn't miss it) I also did a search on CHEA. It did not come up as an accredited institution. Are you sure you have the name correct?

For future reference, you can check to see if an institution is accredited in the U.S. by going to www.chea.org and clicking on the databases and directories.

Thanks for your reply. The only info I have about Southern Eastern Uni is what has appeared on a UK web site:
    Joint Degree Programme

SOUTHERN EASTERN UNIVERSITY was founded in1899 as a Theological Seminary and is now a private American University Chartered in Arkansas in the United States of America - its Charter having obtained the requisite approval by the Circuit Court of Logan County. It is also registered in the UK pursuant to Schedule 21(A) to the Companies Act 1985 having obtained the requisite approval of the Secretary of State and the Privy Council Office.

From the above information - are the degrees which the University awards in the US valid degrees

I found a website on the school at

    http://www.saslawcourses.org/

I can not see where they are accredited in the U.S. at all. They say they are accredited in the UK for providing law education. Even if you got a degree from this school, it is highly doubtful that you would be able to practice law in the U.S. Also, I doubt that the credits would transfer into another U.S. school. I may be wrong, but I get a bad feeling from this school. I personally would explore other options.

The US Department of Education doesn't list Southern Eastern University in their database of accredited institutions.

If a university in the US is not listed in CHEA or the US DOE as accredited, then I would stay clear of it.

I agree with MrLazy: Explore other options.

I currently live in Arkansas and work in the field of HR and have never heard of this place...BEWARE! Also the only statue in Arkansas that allows univerisities or college to operate in from the Dept of Higher Education and not the county courthouse in the case.
