I have received an application to be admitted to a post-graduate program from a candidate who claims to have earned an MBA degree from the AUCST in Beirut, Lebanon. From the transcript, I can see this is a 13-course program (i.e. 1 year) that the candidate completed part-time over 7 semesters.
This school is listed on the UNESCO/IAU database and their website claims that their degrees "...are recognized by the Lebanese Ministry of Higher Education and are equated with the Lebanese License ...". Also, that they are affiliated with "...the State University of New York/Empire State College ... and Villanova University, Pennsylvania ...".

In your opinion - is this a legitimate, accredited institution?

The claimed ties to US universities appear to be legit. Both Villanova and SUNY/Empire State College acknowledge that they are affiliated with AUST. If these two US schools are prepared to accept AUST, then I would be inclined to do so as well, in the absence of any other data.
