Can anyone recommend a legitimate portfolio or credential evaluating school or institution? I have earned a Master’s degree from an accredited college and a Juris Doctor (law) degree from an accredited law school. I also have worked in government for over 13 years, 9 of which were in a supervisory / management capacity. I would like to be awarded a Ph.D. in Public Policy from a “legitimate” school or institution that does a thorough evaluation, assessment and verification of prior learning and credentials to justify the awarding of the Ph.D. I have no problem with researching and writing a dissertation, but have no desire to take any more formal classes. Nine years of traditional academic classroom study is enough. I am not looking for accreditation, but rather legitimacy. By legitimacy I mean, if an applicant does not have to prove their credentials or can easily fake them and get the degree awarded because the school did not bother to verify the representations made by the applicant, I would consider the school or institution illegitimate.

    Any input would be appreciated.
