Wow! The website shows a picture of a diploma from Sample University! That must be one heck of a prestigious degree mill, if you ask me! :D

Its very interesting for the consumer to go through all these offers. Lets say someone is well experience and good a their work. They run into a site like this that at least ask for a resume. Naturally, this person may jump for it since its good to have a degree or degrees.

At what point do you blame the consumer versus the seller?

I think the best warning to a consumer, is to make sure that this school or whatever has known qualified people and require at least detail proof before a degree is offered.

If we at least apply these alone, it would eliminate a lot of these services.

I know there is a lot of frauds like this one, but I still do not hold the view that unaccredited means diploma mill. I think its easy to see those that are in it for the money.

Also make note of the fact that, on their "application," your date of birth and Social inSecurity Number are *required* items...and it's over a non-secure server.

To me this one smells kind of like a version of phishing.

To future readers that run across this post looking for information on this so-called school: NEVER give out your social security number or other personally identifying information without verifying who you are giving it to and making sure they are a real, legit operation. And NEVER give out any personal data or payment information over a non-secure connection, PERIOD.
