Actually I see he has no academic responsibilities, just business management.

It very well maybe that his Undergraduate degree would have been enough to get his current appointment. I think both the gentleman in question and the University have made a mistake by mentioning the degree. The question may have to be asked if the university knows or cares to know that the master's degree is not accredited.

It seems that wikipedia.org contains an interesting entry for European Committee of Home & Online Education, the accreditor of Strassford University.

    Major competition

Hey, the unaccredited degree business is highly competitive. Strassford has to work hard to make sure that it is not outdone by DeRhodes University, or the University of Lexington, or Ashwood University.

    Ashwood's policy is particularly impressive:
Needless to say, it's this kind of rapid response to market demand that distinguishes innovative schools like Ashwood from traditional accredited institutions.

As one personally interested in the reputation of Coastal Carolina University, I brought this issue to the attention of the university PR folks a couple months back.

I will now share this thread with the university Provost and President.

Reality is that this individual does not have teaching duties, but by listing his Strassford degree in that press realease, Coastal Carolina University damages her reputation and (in a small way) legitimizes the diploma mill concept advanced by Strassford.

A new accrediting agency? An impressive roster. How did DeRhodes make the cut?

    What garbage.

Garbage indeed. Some scholars are beginning to say that in a relatively short time, the deleterious impact of the Internet will offset its benefits. I’m starting to agree with them.
