    ** Warning

Another misleading web site that mixes legitimate DL providers with bogus and barely legal sub standard providers.

    http://ivyuniversities.com/programs.htm

This is a known trick when less than wonderful plug their names in the list with legitimate schools.

    also a forum...

There is a discussion forum attached to the site: its URL is http://www.ivyuniversities.com/phpBB2/.

I note that the forum at "IvyUniversities.com" contains the following number of threads and posts:

    ====================
    RA Schools
Discuss your US education from regionally accredited distance learning organizations
    No Posts

    State Licensed Schools
Discuss your US education from none-RA online schools which are state licensed
    3 topics 15 posts

    Foreign distance learning programs
Discuss experiences from foreign providers of distance learning education. UK, Japan, Canada, Australia, etc...
    No Posts
    ====================

The text crawl that scrolls across the bottom of a web browser window showing the forum says "Ivy Universities - unbiased reviews of top online universities."

So far the posters have more commentary about state-licensed, unaccredited (domestic) schools than RA universities in general, or those RA's in the Ivy League. It will be interesting to see what is said about foreign programs.

    a known trick

In other words, they garble their site the way you garble your posts: some words yours, some words another's, all apt for evasion.

Considering where you post scurrility under other names, I can see where mix-n-match would be termed by you a "known trick" from "another misleading web site."

Galanga has the patience of a saint. You merely compare yourself to Christ. Oy.

    Newbies, be advised.

    Re: a known trick

UJ you are funny, I don't know you but all you are doing is looking for ways to say nice things about me.

I don't really need to add anything anymore, or OK just for you here is an apostrophy, just for you.

    Newbies, be advised.

This is what you can expect from UJ if you don't have your posts
    matching UJ's agenda.

So be prepared to deal with UJ especially if you have constructive
    and helpful info.

    Don't give up.

With all due respect, Lerner, I have never read a single post of yours that was informative, helpful, or substantial.

Uncle Janko, on the other hand, has presented carefully researched information most beneficial to the serious DL student and/or advocate.

    Now, now, everyone. :)

So, then... what was it again that anyone wanted to say about ivyuniversities.com?

Is the inclusion of Breyer and KW a stupid mistake or the raison d'etre of the site? The overwhelming majority of schools are entirely legitimate. Is this innocence-by-association (a familiar technique!) or just stupidity?

  9. We should probably ask Azad, since maybe he designed their website.....

Lerner, I think you protest too loud to Uncles J's post, feeling something other than respect? Yours Truly, Nikolas Horthy

Many others may disagree with you on your first comment.

On you other comment some of UJ posts that I read in did what you say others are attacks on people beyond proportion and grossly unjust.

    That is my opinion.

Partially far from being unjust (I should know!).

Partially simply levity, my friend, levity!

It would still be interesting if an astute text-critic could figure out the rationale for including a handful of less-than-wonderful schools among so many eminently respectable ones. Cui bono?

    Trap

Its obvious that they want to make their school appear legitimate.
have them listed with legitimate somehow makes the public less
suspicious. So deception, camouflage - marketing to gullible and unsuspecting, the reason is money making for the schools and
maybe some level of comfort for degree holders.
    Psychologically
HR personnel can get deceived by constantly seeing these couple of businesses listed among the legitimate.

KWU uses this technique many years now.

Also other schools have harder entry requirements, longer study periods, higher fees and require more work, so after checking some of them suddenly ops, wow a school that one can get in to and graduate fast and they recognize some experience etc, then again a list of schools that are more expansive and require more work etc.

This is a trap as well as marketing trik.

    Learner,

Tell me how you can spell psychologically, camouflage, personnel, and gullible and cannot spell a simple word like trick.

I began using Google spell check.

Some times I may run in to words that have multiple spelling and mining's, this time I edited the post to ad the word and forgot to run the spell checker.

All the more reason for any student to accept no less than accreditation by an agency approved by the US Department of Education (USDE) and/or its Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA). It eliminates all guesswork.

Nothing, however, can eliminate student laziness and attempted shortcutting. Diploma mills and other less-than-wonderfuls lie in wait for such as they to happen along.

When you find those words that have multiple minings then you just have to dig a bit deeper.

    HOFLMBO!
    :D

Jack, I took most sumptuous, nevertheless gratifying, liberties and replaced the "R"- rolling with "H"- howling! - in the net's all-pervasive chat-room lingo.

I hope that it is not illegal to "howl" on the floor laughing one's b_____ off.

Or, does that privilege require an "RA + PA," no RA-only, - or else?

    ;)
