I have a feeling it's the former rather than the latter... Saint Augustin University"

I came across a link on an Amazon site. Anyone familiar with it?

Yep, and note where their Credential Evaluators link goes to. Not the sharpest tools in the shed these fellas.

    Cheers,

They are operating under Florida's extrordinarily loose religious exemption. FL statutes allow purportedly religious schools to offer courses with conventional degree titles (BA, MBA, PhD, for example), so long as there's some religious modifier in the name of the major subject. It specifically permits degrees in the following subjects: Administration, Education, Media Communication, Ministry, Music, Theology and Social Work. And it specifically permits degree programs that are intended for secular laymen.

That seems to be dangerously close to a general degree-mill authorization statute. I'm surprised that it's not being used more often. Expect to see more schools like this.

Quite right, Bill. Apart from dreadful "religious" schools, the um interesting Mr Prade, note also the classic mill stunt of the misspelled name: St Augustin (wrong in both Spanish and Florida's other language), analogous to "Cormell", "Stamford", and other historic gems.
