    QUESTION ON AN ACCREDITING AGENCY

I am looking at a school that is only accredited by the Accrediting Association of Seventh-Day Aventist Schools, Colleges, And Universities (AAA) and would like to know if AAA is a recognized accreditor and if so by who?

I have heard of AAA because one of my siblings graduated from one of AAA's member schools, Andrews University, B-Springs, Michigan.

I did a degreeinfo search prior to posting and nothing came up.

The Accrediting Association Of Seventh-Day Adventist Schools, Colleges, And Universities is not listed on the CHEA/ US DOE site, but the AAA is listed as one of eight members of The National Council For Private School Accreditation.

    God bless,

I know you didn't really ask about this, but were you aware that Andrews University was regionally accredited, as well:

Many religious bodies which sponsor schools have an in-house agency that handles placement of staff, quality control, doctrinal control, or other similar issues. This is one such agency. It is not to be confused with RA or NA (or fake!) accrediting agencies. Its purpose is different. One might wish that they didn't use the word "accrediting", but it's a perfectly good word when understood in the context used.

I've also never heard anyone say "B-Springs". Ever. And "Wham" looks weird.
    Tastes OK, though.

The Seventh-day Adventist educational system includes over 80 higher education institutions throughout the world and numerous elementary and secondary academies (hence their accreditation program). Their U.S. universities, which include Loma Linda U., Andrews U., La Sierra U., Pacific Union College, Walla Walla College and several others, are all regionally accredited (Griggs University, their home study program, is accredited by DETC).

    Thanks uncle janko,

I had a temporary "brain fa*t" and forgot how to spell "BERRIEN" Springs, so I improvised a little with B-Springs.

    OOOoops!!!!
