HR poll of applicants to our company shows sharp increase of applicants from known DL schoold such as UP, AIU etc.
Also the number of Ph.D'S applying for technical positions that require bachelors degree trippled in comparison to2004.

In 2005 only one applicant had milled degree( Concordia College NY was stated but it was the other concordia in reality) , 37 applicants lied about their degrees and 54 stated a little defrent major than what they had, BSET was passed as BSEE, MIS as MSCS, Masters in Management as MBA,
96 applicants had degrees from India.
    22 from EU.
We hired a person with NYU BSEE and PWU MBA, (BS was requirement)

Total above 400 resumes were reviewed 35% resumes from females.

How did you determine the following? I am assuming standard HR check pre-employment.

"37 applicants lied about their degrees and 54 stated a little defrent major than what they had, BSET was passed as BSEE, MIS as MSCS, Masters in Management as MBA,"

This is out of 400 resumes? That's an incredible exception rate.

37 aplicants never graduated from schools they have on theire resumes. larger number lie about the major, one guy had IT degree but on his resume was Engineering degree, one lady had Management degree but stated she has MBA.

We work with couple of companies that help us find qualified emploees, so resumes somethime are edited by our headhunters.
I don't know if they will risk the contract with us and some have exclusive lplacement agreements, on the other hand it's posible that they change alittle because for every person they place on FT position they get nice 5 figure check.

It was out of 400 + resumes, that what I'm told.

We pay a fee to a company to conduct backround screening.
In addition our HR emploees perform verefications.

When we implemented Peoplesoft in our HR I made good friends with hR director, he has interest in DL and other HR related issues.
By the way he is a fan of Dr. Bear.
He knows I call HR a nasty organization, but this has little efect on our friendship.
