Sounds like Wyoming officials--some of them, anyway--are sick of Kennedy-Western and its ilk.

Here's one quote from Superintendent of Public Instruction Jim McBride: "Of those 14,000, I bet there's not even 200 who are Wyoming residents," McBride said Monday. "Most of them are not even in this country -- they're in Pakistan, and in different places outside the United States."

    200? I would doubt it's 20!

More from the article: "Allison King, corporate communications coordinator with Kennedy-Western University in Agoura Hills, Calif., said Monday that the university supports the proposed legislation that would require private colleges to become accredited in order to register in Wyoming."

Uh, huh. Then why aren't they accredited? I mean, if it's so important....

    And note the location (California).

More: "King also said that only about 1 percent of Kennedy-Western's students are from outside the United States. "We don't actively solicit students from outside the United States," she said."

Yeah, sure. I belive Bear has commented many times that he gets (or used to get) a lot of complaints about K-WU, most from overseas students.

K-WU has always been about talk, never about action.

These schools use Wyoming. Perhaps Wyoming is tired of it. We'll see.

Some day Wyoming and Idaho will finally change their laws and make DL ...make academia a better place!

Have you ever BEEN to Wyoming? ;)

    Especially in the winter?

Believe me, Southern California is a MUCH nicer place from which to run an Internet scam.

But a much more legally dangerous one. I was just looking at the statute last night.

And I kinda' like Wyoming. It's definitely one of the states I'd at least consider living in...

...that is, if I could just figure out a way to earn a living entirely from the chair in my den; and if the location of said den could be pretty much anywhere on the planet.

It's also where Gerry Spence's Trial Lawyers College at Thunderhead Ranch is located. Gotta' like that. ;)

Anyway... back on topic: Wyoming reversing its reputation as a haven for diploma mills -- and, along the way, summarily ejecting Kennedy-Western and its ilk -- can't happen fast enough for me! Bring it on!
