Wile I was researching about the old WCU, RA that was closed in late 90's. I run in to what seems to be fake WCU.

I posted the email that caused me to read more about WCU in separate tread.

This web site looks fake on line university that uses the WCU LA, CA name!!!

    http://www.wcuedu.org/wcuonline.htm

It apears that they sell old WCU degrees.

Can someone who knows more look in this.

    Domain is registred in China.

    Very clever deception.

They use copies from the catalog form late 80s avalble on line from WCAA.org.

They never tell that it was closed etc.

    Unusual but not unheard of.

One of the stranger ones of this sort was Nasson College, an RA school that closed in Maine. As they tell the story, at their 'going out of business' sale, someone bought a file cabinet, and discovered in it a microfilm reel with all of the school's alumni records and other information. This person, they say, opened his own "Nasson" with an Alabama address, and not only was peddling useless degrees, but also charging alumni of the real Nasson a fee to issue their transcripts, since he had the only records.

I used to get anguished calls from the real Nasson alumni association, trying to resolve this situation, which I guess they eventually did, but I don't know details.

Let's hope that diploma mill operators don't now get the idea to resurrect the names of colleges and universities closed down x number of years ago and pretend that they have a history going back a hundred years or xx years!
