John Dovelos is a conman, a fraud, and a criminal. Under those circumstances liar is a given. However, it is rather fun catching such unsavory people in their bold attempts to rewrite the truth.

He needs an accountant to keep track of stuff for him. Jawohl.

  5. John Dovelos is one of those cardboard shingle psychologists who, as a group, are single-handedly responsible for the downfall of western civilization as we knew it......

Worse yet, he doesn't even have a REAL degree to justify his quackery......

There's also the case of the missing Bachelor degree. I can't quite understand why you would earn a solid undergraduate degree, claim it on your resume, and then remove it. Why?

    Cheers,

    George

I don't know if this was there before, but there is now an entry for
What does "equivalent to Bachelor's degree" mean? I see that Macquarie offers (or did offer) what once was NAATI accreditation level 3 (now professional level) as a graduate diploma .

I do not know if they offered it as a bachelors degree at the time. If they did though, why not just say it? The "trained at Macquarie University" bit is also a bit odd. Perhaps he gained "NAATI accreditation" but received no award from the university itself.

From the list of NAATI approved courses , the professional level (what once was level 3) seems to be mostly given for an Advanced Diploma (rougly equivalent to an Associate degree) or a Graduate Diploma (either 2/3 of a Masters degree or an extra year of undergraduate work) with a single Masters degree listed. Would NAATI have reduced their standards since 1995?

I agree with Bill. I am hoping that, somehow, he gets caught up in the St Regis affair and winds up in jail.

Oh, I think he's knee-deep in the St. Regis scam, at the very least.

If I were "Doctor" Dovelos, I wouldn't sleep very well in the near future. The next knock on the door could very well be Federal agents, executing a search warrant.

    We can always hope. :D

    backdating

The earliest known-to-me goatbag mounted by those wacky people at 14525 Newport Hwy is "Holy Acclaim University." (Yes, yes, it does sound like something Robin would exclaim to Batman.) It is mentioned on the AdvancedU site, along with the "A+ Technical Institute" early in 2000.

Saint Regis wasn't mentioned in the AdvancedU site on September 24, 2001. SRU was present, however, by May 24, 2002. So SRU didn't exist until late in 2001 or early in 2002. Since it didn't exist, it couldn't have offered courses. (As if it offered courses after it came into existence!)

John Dovelos' "PhD" couldn't have been awarded by SRU in 1998. He couldn't have taken courses from SRU before 2001. Perhaps he will say he had taken courses elsewhere, and had already written an unsubmitted thesis by 1998, with SRU declaring it would date his degree to match when he had done the work. We'll see what Mr. Dovelos posts.

Just to remind you... during his time as Dean of the School of Behavioral Sciences, after Regis sued Lorhan et al., John D was posting material like this:
That's from the now-defunct "The Degree Forum," and it's a public statement made by an "academic officer" of a "university."

John Dovelos claims never-awarded Nova Southeastern PhD

    In this web page titled
    we find this:
Nova Southeastern is a SACS-accredited university in Florida. As is the policy of many (most? nearly all?) legitimate U.S. universities, the Office of the Registrar will verify over the phone the award of a Nova degree. So I called, and asked a staff person about Mr. Dovelos' degree. (Yes, I knew to make sure there wasn't confusion over different possible spellings of his first name.)

Nova Southeastern's Office of the Registrar says that there's been no PhD awarded to Mr. Dovelos.

When least expected there will be a knock on the door of "Dr." Dovelos announcing a warrant for his arrest. The question is whether or not he's intelligent and objective enough to fear this?

  14. My guess is "no".... since he is the epitome of the self-deluded mill degree holder who will go to any length (except admitting error, and getting a real degree) to deny the reality of his situation.

Dovelos is nothing if not alert. The webpage you quoted now reads:

I also hold a B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Psychology from Columbia Pacific University (California, U.S.A.), and a Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from Ecole Superieure Robert de Sorbon, France and have specialized in psychotherapy, cross cultural counseling, health education and HIV/AIDS-related counseling/education.

In light of Dovelos' anti-Semitism, homophobia, hatred of Catholics, etc., perhaps one of his little Canadian friends can hook him up with Ernst Zundel's fan club, or one of his little Mississippian friends can do the same with Byron de la Beckwith's fan club.
I understand they're less busy now.

Not bad - 3 accredited degrees falsely claimed:

    PhD - Nova Southeastern
    BA - Macquarrie
    AA - UWS

That should underline his 'credibility' as he 'explains' his position regarding St Regis - no one surely would have any reason to doubt any statement he makes

Which is the most serious fraud? I would have thought the first - 3 legitimate degrees falsely claimed.

    Time will tell ...

Re: Re: John Dovelos claims never-awarded Nova Southeastern PhD

Once upon a time I criticized Peter for consorting with criminals (on that other forum). I would now like to give him a pat on the back for confronting Dovelos in his own neighborhood regarding his fake degrees. Thanks Peter! (although you'll probably get banned)

I'd also like to say that I'm shocked! Shocked I tell you! To learn that someone (not to be mentioned) has hacked their way onto the website that holds the Dovelos resume and modified the contents of that resume to make him appear to be lying about his academic credentials. I'm so shocked, surprised and dismayed at this discovery that I'm starting up a fundraising effort to buy Dovelos some new firewall software. Anyone interesting in donating to this worthy cause can contact me by pm and I will be glad to tell you what you can do with your money. ;)
