    InterAmerican University, USA

    http://www.iauniversity.us

    InterAmerican University 's is filled as a Non-Profit Higher Educational Institution at the Department of Consumer and Regulatory Affairs, file No. 990548 in Washington DC , and as InterAmerican Institute in New York State file File No. 010416000S69, this allows our international students to have there InterAmerican University degree attested by Legal Services in Washington D.C. USA. The attestation allows further recognition of the degree to students working or living abroad or as expatriates in over 90 countries.

    The courses and curriculum we provide consist of college level material. Our mission is to provide mid-career professionals with a flexible and affordable way to complete their degree.
    InterAmerican University is a private enterprise and is not presently accredited nor under going review by the USDE or any members of The Council of Higher Education Accreditation. InterAmerican University implements its internal review process to assure our programs continue to meet the needs of our current and future student population.
    InterAmerican University makes no representation that students completing any of our programs will be accepted by employers or any educational institution, unless we have an agreement of affiliation and recognition with that specific institution . Those considering our program should due proper due diligence as to the utilization of this program for any other reason than self-accomplishment prior to completing our application.
    The United States has no Federal Ministry of Education or other centralized authority exercising single national control over postsecondary educational institutions in this country. The States assume varying degrees of control over education, but, in general, institutions of higher education are permitted to operate with considerable independence and autonomy. *

    I am keen to know if there is any link between Inter American University of Puerto Rico and InterAmerican University of USA. It seems that many students are con by agents here in Malaysia and China by portraying InterAmerican University of USA as accredited University.

    Clarifying relationship between InterAmerican University USA/ Universidad Interameric

    Dear Peter Chin,

    I know InterAmerican University USA very well, and I guarantee you they do not state in any part of their website any connection with InterAmerican University of Puerto Rico, if by any mean someone is confused about this point I will notify to correct this misunderstanding.

    InterAmerican University clearly states information in its Website about accreditation.

    As you may notice it, there are others Interamerican universities, besides Puerto Rico, and USA, and we respect all of them; although we know about a fraudulent Diploma Mill named InterAmerican University www.iauniversity.net please, be careful.

    InterAmerican University USA is committed to establish as a Bona fide institution, currently in process to be recognized in three countries besides USA.

    It’s Chancellor is Dr. Joseph Bosco, Ph.D. in Education from COLUMBIA UNIVERSITY, New York; M.S. English from SETON HALL UNIVERSITY, South Orange, New Jersey; B.A. Philosophy – English’ Cum Laude. Phi Beta Kappa OHIO UNIVERSITY, Athens Ohio; a well respected academician, Consultant for US Department of Education and Trainer of Executive staff at the State University of New York.

    InterAmerican University has strong connection with many universities and NGO’s worldwide, creating a strong network to benefit students and alumni to get access to other universities around the world.

    InterAmerican University USA, works under high level of honesty and commitment for higher international education using blended learning modality, combining IT systems, onsite training and field practice.

    InterAmerican University USA, has real faculty with graduate degrees and award winning members, besides it counts with an Advisory Board with prestigious international members,
    IAU Advisory Board pledged to maintain the high quality of IAU's programs of instruction, research and student service; to monitor judiciously the development of programs; and to sustain, through them, the University's diverse and comprehensive educational contribution to the international community.
    And since you are from Malaysia, one of InterAmerican University’s Advisory Board Members is Prof. Mohd. Yusof Kasim, Deputy General of Ministry of Education Malaysia, currently supporting some of our programs in Malaysia.

    In general InterAmerican University does not claim to be as prestigious as Harvard or Columbia University, but is a young bona fide institution in the process to be well known and respected as any other well established university.

    The foundation of a university takes lots of time and effort, but everybody at InterAmerican University USA has the commitment to do things right for the best of students, alumni and future prospective students.

    If you would like additional information or need to clarify any issue please do not hesitate to contact me [email protected] and I’ll be more than happy to bring up your comments to the corresponding officers or department at InterAmerican University USA www.iauniversity.us .

    Sincerely yours,

    I'm almost certain that the New York Regents haven't authorized this thing to grant degrees. I'd be very interested to know if the District of Columbia authorites have done so. (My guess is 'no'.) So its basic legality seems to be questionable at this point.

    I think that the legal people at the legitimate InterAmerican University might be very interested in this as well.

    Re: Clarifying relationship between InterAmerican University USA/ Universidad Interameric

    Apparently. You seem to be listed as the dean (or something) of their College of Psychology.

    There's two of these things??

    Your school would be best advised to: (A) make sure that it's operating legally in DC or wherever it's supposed to be, (B) change its name to something less misleading, (C) lose most of its degree programs, particularly the doctorates (in chiropratic? By DL??), and try do a smaller number of things better, (D) stop misleading marketing in Asia, (E) foster scholarship and collaborate with real scholars and real schools, and (F) seek recognized accreditation, don't try to play the off-shore accreditation game.

    constructive comment, they are always welcome

    Dear BillDayson

    I appreciate your sharp comments, and something that makes things grater is considering criticism in the constructive way, we had to take this institution to make it real from the last administration, and we wont give up.

    On behalf the name, it may be good to think about it, unfortunately we have to think about alumni from the past administration, in general we are not creating a new university, we are fixing past mistakes from people that wouldn’t face this forum.

    This institution was created by other people that prefer to hide rather to take full responsibility, we care about students and graduates, that is why we keep going with this project, and to tell the truth we are not married with the name of InterAmerican University, I think board members will decide to make an amendment shortly, as long as this do not affect graduates. In this new administration we really not need the prestige of Universidad Interamericana de Puerto Rico, we are based on our commitment and quality.

    To tell the truth, could be easier make a brand new university instead of cleaning other people mistakes, but we thought about people already graduated.

    I deeply appreciate your comments that will help us create a real institution, and anywhere it will be, will be in a legal way, that I personally guarantee. Fixing this institution is taking us lost of effort, but with God’s help we will succeed.

    Thank you very much for your comment, and we’ll honestly take this in consideration, for the best of higher education which is our commitment.

    In the name of this educational project, we apologize to anybody affected by our past administration, and we take full responsibility to make this a real institution even under other name, this will be discussed with Board Members.

    Once again thank you for this constructive comment, they are always welcome.

    Sincerely

    Dr. Ricardo Saavedra

    No administration just people

    Well, when I said past administration, I mean past people because there was NO administration...

    you may know by now about www.iauniversity.net and its so call president, many innocent people trusted in this institution, and we trying to help and fix the damage.

    That’s why I said that it might be easier to create a brand new institution than fixing it, unfortunately there are many people we know holding this degree, people that has invested time, money and effort to earn their precious prize… people that took pictures at graduation ceremony and now they might have that degree proudly at their office or home.

    It’s a shame!, but we feel bad about these facts, we are the continuation of that dream, we want to support those innocent people, and hopefully endorse or reissue their credential but now with value, a real academic prize, not a fake worthless paper.

    Thank for your interest, and once again I deeply appreciate all your comments.

    Sincerely,

    Ricardo Saavedra

    Dear Dr. Ricardo Saavedra,

    Thanks for your reply and clarification. You must be aware of the fact that;

    a) your InterAmerican University is operating illegally in China and Malaysia. Only accredited universities are officially allowed to collaborate with local public or private institutions.

    b) if national accreditation board of Malaysia is aware of your activities then by now they would have black listed your degrees in Malaysia. Please do check with them.

    c) your university is not only lacking accreditation but also lacking authority to confer degrees. Can we consider the degrees awarded by your University as American Degrees??

    If you think YES then please substantiate with enough evidence.

    d) can you show evidence that you have obtained accreditation from three countries. On what basis a country will grant you accreditation? is it on the basis of your company formation in New York or using InterAmerican University of Puerto Rico name.

    I wonder if real InterAmerican University knows that they are so famous in Asia::)

    e) you have listed a large number of new students from China and Malaysia on your website;

    http://www.iauniversity.us/Content/student.html

    How do you manage to recruit these students? To the best of my knowledge I have never seen advertisement by your University in Malaysia. It is obvious then you employ agents to recruit students and as such agents by word of mouth will say anything to convince students to enroll...i.e. InterAmerican University is an accredited University with a campus in New York...sound cool I might consider doing my Doctorate with you..:)

    The point is are these students enrolling with you know the actual status of your University?? Please be honest and interview each of them and specially screen all your agents.

    The best advice is given by Dr. Dayson which is to CHANGE YOUR UNIVERSITY NAME AND GET A REAL ACCREDITATION.

    Best wishes,

    Peter Chin

    Accredited university in one year?

    Dear Peter Chin,

    Firstable, this is not my university I am a collaborator, trying to help and build a good institution. This institution has been registered as Not-for Profit institution, WITH NO OWNERSHIP AT ALL.

    Secondly, answering to your question on how we expect to build a university, the answer is creating real academic programs, following official academic standards. Is obvious, we must follow local academic policies by local ministry of education in that specific country.

    Third, we will take your advice interviewing each of them and especially we will screen all our agents to correct this matter.

    Fourth, would anybody will be able to make an accredited university in one year of time, I remind you, this institution was controlled and directed by other people that never care about your opinion or anybody else point of view, neither students.

    Fifth, we have to clarify; new academic policies currently apply from now on, and will apply to everybody with no exceptions. Only those that fulfill these new standards will earn their degree.

    Sixth, no more than 15% life experience will be considered and lots of research papers and mandatory required courses, we currently have developed academic programs per courses basis, and will be uploaded to the website shortly, many of the programs will disappear.

    Seventh, on behalf accreditation we’ve been clear in the website, “InterAmerican University makes no representation that students completing any of our programs will be accepted by employers or any educational institution, unless we have an agreement of affiliation and recognition with that specific institution. Those considering our program should due proper due diligence as to the utilization of this program for any other reason than self-accomplishment prior to completing our application”.

    And last, Mr. Bill Dayson advice has been taken seriously under consideration since we consider logical and concise. We, the new people of this institution refuse the fact of continuing being a fake institution, but you may understand that making a university is not an easy task to accomplice, not less than one year, even though has been existing for much more time as www.iauniversity.net .

    I repeat once again, we will make the amendment of name when we consider appropriate, hopefully pretty soon, and finally accreditation and recognition by local ministry education is already on our agenda, thank you for remind us this fact.

    Appreciate very much your comments,

    Regards,

    Ricardo Saavedra

    Browsing through your international affiliation;

    http://www.iauniversity.us/Content/intlaffiliations.html

    I have located Sabah Insitute of Art http://www.sia.edu.my/partner%20link.html

    Whose president is Prof. Data Dr. Wilson Young and he is also a member of Advisory Board of Inter American University. Note the following at the Sabah Insitute web site;

    There is an Inter America University (www.inter.edu) (Puerto Rico accredited university) listed followed by non-accredited Inter American University www.iauniversity.us . It is obvious that Mr. Saveedra have been lying about the fact that he and his other members of Inter American University; s advisory Board has been using Puerto Rico Based Inter American University name to market degree programmes of non-accredited Inter American University.

    Another of your affiliate INFOWORLD placed at Inter American University website;

    http://www.infoworld.net.my/Pg2MBA.htm give the following information;

    InterAmerican University is an American University offering on campus and off campus offering programs and courses within US pattern of higher education.

    IAU is accredited by the International Association of Universities and Schools and by the International Council on Education.

    It seems to me a scam as the governmental approval is obtained using Puerto Roco based University but degrees are offered through a fake non-accredited New York based University.
