Director of Public Safety candidate in Texas sees his St. John's University (the one in Louisiana) master's degree explode in both his resume and his face.

Gee, a legally operating school awarding a degree that causes someone career distress? I would invite "russ" to explain how this school, which meets his stated standard, is legitimate and meets the needs of its graduates. (Except this one, obviously. )

Was that the old "Saint John's University of Practical Theology"?

Seems like a Master's degree in Police Administration would be a highly desirable credential, if not an actual requirement, for the job, too.

Too bad. We like our public officials to be honest.

Not in places like New York and Boston where flat out crooks are revered.

And we could probably mention Louisiana if anyone knew what goes on there.

Well, and Connecticut too - given that our former governor and two or three of our mayors are currently doing time.

Nothing to do with fake degrees, rather a tasty old-fashioned melange of graft, corruption, bribery and (in one case) prostitution.....

Yes, and it was a school of the Congregational Church of Practical Theology, whatever that was!

Having lived in New Orleans for nearly 15 years, I can tell you that state, at one time, was the most corrupt in the nation with New Jersey close on her heels.

Yea, but you have Rep. Chris Shays who is one of the most honest people in Congress and Sen. Joe Lieberman, a very honorable man. You also have Governor Jodi Rell who just scored a 73% approval rating, one of the highest in the nation. I also think Rep. Nancy Johnson is considered fairly honorable.
