    hey guys,

i took the lsat 6 months ago and was wondering if anyone knew of any schools in SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA or schools with off campus locations in SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA that substitute the LSAT for the GMAT. they have to be at least acbsp accred. or higher (would highly prefer aacsb) with regional accred. as well. no d/l. thanks!

A quick web search indicates that schools will sometimes accept the substitution. At Fordham, for some reason, the substitution affects university financial aid.

Pick a school or two and call to ask.

i understand some schools will accept the substitution. my question is which ones. i am not going to sit here and call every school in the country. im assuming that there probably isnt any source that contains this type of info.

You emphatically specified "SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA" and AACSB or ACBSP accredited so I thought the call list to be limited.

Very limited considering all most all AACSB schools require the gmat in some form or another..Granted like Texas A&M-Commerce will waive it with a high enough GPA(but they still request your scores). I do believe the GMAT is pretty must a requisite for having AACSB accrediation because I cannot name one school AACSB school that does not require the GMAT of at least a portion of it's students.

Heno-The fact that DL is not an option for you means that calling should be a VERY easy option because there will be a limited amount of schools that will meet your criteria. I can name about a half dozen that will not meet your criteria in Southern Califorina. As a matter of fact I can't think of any that will take the Lsat or Waive the Gmat and are AACSB or ACBSP accreditated in Southern Cali. If you find please let me know.

Perhaps because the LSAT is designed for law school admissions, not business school admissions?

maybe if you learn how to read you would have noticed that i said, "or any other off campus locations in southern california of schools in other areas". anyway, that is besides the point.

    thank you for the reply.

i am open (stated in my first post) to schools in other areas that have off campus locations in southern california. do you think that would widen my spectrum of schools a little?

very amusing. it is interesting to see that getting into a graduate business program only requires basic math and reading skills; exactly what the GMAT tests. the lsat on the other hand is a far better measure of a students ability to understand, analyze, use logic, and what not. i didnt know these types of characteristics did not apply to business school or business in general...

I will have to work on the reading comprehension as that still seems to specify "SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA."

Could someone explain to me how a standardized test like the LSAT could be more difficult than another standardized test like the GMAT? I thought that both tests are scored on a per centile basis to rank applicants on the basis of their predicted ability to succeed in law or business school?

I know nothing about educational testing theory.
