Doing a Overture search, I always find it interesting to see what schools pay per click for various search criteria. ran across a Heritage University. http://www.heritageuniv.net It has a interesting website and areas of study offerings are minimal, which I think is good considering it is a new school. Appears to have preliminary california approval and is stating that it plans to seek DETC in 2006. Isn't that a bit premature to disclose on a website it's intentions? I was looking into low cost DBA programs, however, their program costs $310. Ouch.

Does anyone have any info on this school, not that I would pay anything remotely close to this for a state program and new school. NCU would be about the same I believe and RA.

As of May 25, 2005, its California approval appears to no longer be "preliminary." It seems fully BPPVE-approved now.

It's not accredited by any USDE- or CHEA-approved agency, of course... which you pointed out; and as Ted Heiks correctly points-out in this post, its stated plan to apply for DETC accreditation in 2006 may or may not mean all that much (though I'm guessing it does in this particular case... but DETC is unlikely to allow it to continue saying so if it does apply to it for accreditation).

Its JD (Juris Doctor) degree is apparently approved by the California Bar... and it was recently added to the Bar's list of approved correspondence law programs.

Just so you know... Heritage has been discussed here before, as a search would reveal.

Thanks for the great info../ research. I feel that they are toooo expensive though on the DBA program. Still a interesting curriculum nontheless.

Interesting! There is a fully accredited "Heritage University" in Toppenish Washington on the Yakima Nation Reservation. They are a quality school and offer some really interesting evening and weekend coursework. I attended their graduation recently and it was a wonderful experience cultuturally. I have had two of my employees get master's degrees in counseling from them.
