Swedish government report on diploma mills

The Swedish government's "National Agency for Higher Education" (Högskoleverket) has issued the 48 page report Fake universities and bogus degrees– Sweden and the world. The document is in Swedish, but a summary in English is available. The report's authors are Erik Johansson and Henrik Hansson.

A number of screen shots of web stes are included in the report: there are pages from University of Northwest, Lexington University, Almeda University, Hamilton University, University of Asia, American World University, Barrington University, Trinity College & University, Washington International University, Pacific Western University, Frederick Taylor University, Adam Smith University, University of Dorchester, University of Dunham, Shaftesbury University, Knightsbridge University, and Nobel University.

It is possible that this is an initial step in the creation of legislation intended to suppress the demand for diploma mill "degrees" in Sweden.

Bluffuniversitet

The Swedish term for "diploma mill" seems to be "bluffuniversitet", as in "danska bluffuniversitetet Knightsbridge University" (figure 16, page 31).

The bloodshed did lead to the absolutely smashing Alexander Nevsky, both the Eisenstein film and the Prokofiev score.

However, I can think of no corresponding cultural triumph that goes with those meatballs.

When I was a child, my (Danish) aunt used to say that, "A Swede is just a Norwegian with his brains knocked out, or is it the other way around?"
