The Association of International Education Assessors describes itself as "a consortium of select agencies and organizations committed to the support of quality online schools and programs." Its domain (www.associea.org) lives in an XO Communications server with IP address 66.236.28.61. Not surprisingly, since AIEA shows strong indications of being a Saint Regis operation, its domain registration is hidden through the use of the privacy service RegisterFly.com.

The seal on the AIEA site is the same as one of the seals in that Rubber Duck Design catalog described in an earlier thread, except for the removal (PhotoShop?) of a red-and-gold border that had surrounded the graphic presently displayed.

The (901) 328-4745 phone number on the site is in Memphis. The address (1784 W Northfield Blvd, Murfreesboro, Tennessee 37129-1702) corresponds to UPS Store #2467.

The AIEA site makes reference to the "Council for Distance Education Accreditation (CDEA)," said to be a "a private accrediting body of online/distance schools." It claims to be a "Corporate Partner of AACRAO" which is untrue. There is also a claim to membership in Sloan-C, "a consortium of institutions and organizations committed to quality online education." (A similar claim appears on the James) Monroe site; neither is listed by Sloan-C as a member.)

Here's a change-of-pace: another (newly filled) SRU-related site is www.jaou.net, the "Journal of the Association of Online Universities." This site has been housed inside the "University Services" site at www.university-services.net/jaou/ but is now loaded into its own domain. Its domain registration is also masked via RegisterFly.com, hardly inspiring confidence in its integrity as an academic publisher.

Journal of the Association of Online Universities exists since 1984 as their copyright notice claims! A truly world renowned journal!! :)

    ...and silently steal away

Wow, not much left to the AIEA site at all! No web pages. Sploont! Gone into thin air! Try it yourself:

    Gone, gone, gone.

It appears to have gone into hiding. Many of the old images are still there. I couldn't see anything terribly useful though.

Blimey! That didn't take long. The images directory has now been cleared.

They seem to be regular readers of DegreeInfo.

    A duck-like-entity's Rubber Duck Design

For your amusement, here's the Rubber Duck Design foil seal for AIEA... compare with the (for the moment, but not much longer, one suspects) AIEA Web Logo.

No, no no!!! You are all totally mistaken. 'Coming May 25th' is clearly stated on the homepage. Hold your horses and wait until the 25th, then all will be revealed.

PS - When the 25th comes around, please remind me as I may get overly excited and fall off my chair in amazement.

    Cheers,

    George

    It is back up now.

And lucky readers can join for the bargain price of $500!

    Some of the benefits include

    -Printing Services
    -Apostille and Authentication Service
-Website promotion & Search Engine Submission (Banner ads)
    -Dissertation publishing
    -PLA training and certification
    - And links that are more useful than telling giving you links to AACRAO, GMAT and GRE.

They never define what a PLA is, but from the description
It might stand for Prior Learning Something.
