HR requests accreditation updates

    My yang brother works for world leading automobile maker Information Technology Campus in USA.

    They received an interesting email from HR – Corporate wide mailer to go and update profile on their HR web site on the accreditation status of their educational institution.

    The web site page had radio button selection type format.
    One for RA, NA, Unaccredited, International and Other.

    For the other there was a window to type explanation and comment and for international the same country etc.

    Intranet web site in the profile area for education requires having name of the school and address, year of graduation as well.

    This was a subject of conversations of small people gatherings in cafeteria and some in my brother’s words had red and unhappy faces.

    He asked not to reveal his employer at this time.

    Very interesting Lerner. Could you give a few more details on how the system works? Is the employee required to input the accreditation status of their degree, or does the HR department do that? I note you post from the US and UK.

    I was told by my brother that they have a new update to their Peoplesoft application in HR USA campus.

    Now I reside in USA and havea fiew international projects - not related to education - Engineering and Telecom work.
    I get to be in UK and France extended piriods of time.

    I'ts cheaper to rent a flat than stay in hotel all the time in UK.

    Now I sent your question to my brother and will wait for an update.

    They are required to maintain a profile on the HR intranet - People soft run application.

    There is a matrix for Skills and Certifications as well, so project managers etc can access and read about the project team member skills.

    In the mandatory section of the online profile they had to list
    education.

    the new upgrade adds additional fields and selections under the education area, so once a person enters and specifies the name of the school from what I'm told he has to select this additional selections on the status of the school as I mentioned earlier.


    In non-mandatory section they list their hobbies etc.

    Why is this change and why this was campus corporate wide initiative is of interest to me.
