Florida Atlantic University is currently offering a master's degree in accounting online. One of the "selling points" of this degree is AACSB accreditation. I checked out the school on AACSB's web site and it's listed; however, there is a separate listing for schools that have their accounting programs accredited by AACSB...FAU is not listed. Is FAU trying to pass something off as accredited by AACSB when it actually isn't? Here's a link to the advertisement... FAU Macc program Any ideas on this?
FAU is a member of AACSB but not an accredited member. Most schools become a member for aproximately two years before they can become an accredited member and display the special AACSB seal. What the requirements are for becoming a member or an accredited member I do not know. Maybe someone else here knows more. If I remember correctly, there was a thread not to long ago about this and the AACSB requirements. Try using the search button on AACSB. FAU is not using any AACSB logo or seal that I noticed. The logo can be used but not the special seal until it is accredited. RXI
FAU has their business program accreditted by AACSB, their business school site, list their accounting programs. Might be AACSB accredited their school of business and since FAU's accounting program's are administered by their business school, their accounting programs are covered. http://www.fau.edu/gsb/
Yes, I did a search already...no useful information. I've e-mailed the program representative twice with questions about the program and its accreditation but no response so far.
