The State of Hawaii, by its Office of Consumer Protection, filed suit today against Empire University (a Hawaii nonprofit corporation) and its principal Tchang Behrk (a NY resident). The suit alleges that the defendants violated various provisions of Hawaii's Unaccredited Degree Granting Institutions Law (Hawaii Revised Statutes Chapter 446E) and seeks injunctive relief, restitution, civil penalties and other equitable relief.

    with apologies to Malvina Reynolds

    See degree mills in Hawaii
little mills all made of ticky-tacky
and they all go crumbling, crashing,
when Jeff Brunton knocks 'em down...

(Sorry. It was a sixties fit.)
