The entity called Robert Kennedy U of Jura, Switzerland, recently announced that its degrees are actually issued by the University of Wales in the UK. Has anyone on the list had any experience with other degree-"granters" whose degrees are actually issued by the University of Wales?

There appears to be a list of validated institutions here ,on a University of Wales site, which mentions Robert Kennedy College (not University). It only claims to validate the MBA.

Blame these people if you want to.

Personally, no, Alan. But I know a fair bit about so-called free universities in Switzerland. Since KWE's ESL shill is running amok, PM me if you'd like to discuss that. El Trujillito will have to play by (please note the preposition, carefully chosen) himself. Ecrasez l'infame.

    it'll be a mixed bag.

Some people post links to factual information, some will offer their opinions. So Mr. Contreras is likely to receive a mix of good information and difficult-to-substantiate commentary. He is certainly able to sift through what is written.

Your post suggests that you do not have confidence in his ability to do this, perhaps that he will pick and chose to support a predetermined conclusion. Is that really what you are saying?

In the UK they have "recognised" and "listed" bodies. Only "recognised" bodies may issue degrees, but listed bodies may offer courses leading to a degree of a recognised body.

So, for example, the College of Estate Management (http://www.cem.ac.uk/courses/prospectus.asp) is a "listed" body, and offers a variety of courses leading to diplomas, but awards no degrees. The courses it offers lead to degrees awarded by the University of Reading, a recognised body. That the courses toward the degree were completed at CEM in no way detracts from the status of the degree.

The RKU/Wales arrangement seems to be similar in nature, except RKU is not in the UK and so is not formally a "listed" body. It does appear it is acting as a de facto listed body in this context. Degrees issued by Wales are recognised degrees. That courses toward the degree are completed at RKU should not detract from the status of the degree.
