Oooh, this one is a little creepy. Someone on another forum noticed that the "Distance Degree Central" site pushes James Monroe degrees ("Earn a College Degree by Demonstrating your Competency - No courses or classes required!" with a link under the text to JMU) as well as the "Monroe University High School" product.

There's a Flash movie of Victoria The Talking Head who pitches the MUHS degree to site visitors. Her head moves, somewhat, as do her lips and eyes, but the rest of her is immobile.

After the movie is done, try placing the cursor of your mouse in the upper right corner of the small movie window. Victoria will look up at it, her face distorting oddly in the process. If you move the mouse around "she'll" try to turn her head to track it.

You can right-click on her head, then zoom in and pan. The effect is odd since her neck never moves by a single pixel. Just the head, kinda like there's a bearing bolted to the back of "her" virtual skull.

I suppose this is an advance in head-transplant technology over the static use of Richard Hoyer's and Dennis Chandler's bodies as hosts for the heads of other SRU professors.

    Yurp!

  2. Galanga,

This is an educational master piece. You go to elaborate efforts and have the gall to insult Richard Hoyer, a personal friend of mine.

While I rather enjoyed galanga's entertaining post, calling it an education masterpiece is probably pushing it a bit.

BTW, I missed the part where Richard Hoyer was insulted. Did someone call him a hillbilly?

this happened to Bruce Dern too

Why, thank you, I suppose. But I don't see that "education" has anything to do with it.
Ah, I think you never saw the thread showing various head transplants, posted in November, 2003. Read that thread for the bizarre details. I would say it is a Saint Regis photoshopper who has insulted Richard Hoyer.

Some of the pictures referred to can be found here:

The photos were originaly posted on the Saint Regis web site or on Richard Hoyer's site.
