I was wondering if anyone has info on this accrediting agency... American Council of Colleges and Universities I ask because i have found this name in some interesting websites to schools, but i don't think they are recognized by the DOE. Here are some of the sites that if found this "council" listed in... http://www.mills.edu/ACAD_INFO/MCS/BARBARA/meet.html http://www.unl.edu/womenssp/people/people.html http://www.music.umich.edu/alumni/mm/16_FacultyNotes.pdf
What makes you think that this is an accrediting agency? I Googled it (as I assume you did as well) and got 6 hits for 'american council of colleges and universities' (you posted the highlights) and 7 hits for 'american council of universities and colleges'. None of the hits seems to be the organization's own webpage, so apparently it doesn't have one. It certainly doesn't seem to be very high profile.
It was an assumption i made because of its name. But it does seem low profile, so i'm not really sure what it is. That was kind of why i wanted to know if anyone here had info on them. I think i was under the impression it was an accrediting agency because at first i just looked up the initials (big mistake), and i thought they were the "Association of Catholic Colleges and Universities" which was on an accreditation page for Edgewood College - http://www.edgewood.edu/aboutec/profile/accreditation.htm I guess it just stuck in my head like that.
