    Dear Mr. Galanga,

Do you have any idea on who is operating icfhe and ACAC and why ACAC is the member by NAFSA and AACRAO with such dubious activities?

Is there any validity in the claims made by ACAC?

    Accreditation
    http://www.off-campus.net/accreditation.htm

PanAmerica University is accredited by International Commission for Higher Education
    Office 1243,
    14781 Memorial Drive,
    Houston, TX 77079
    www.icfhe.org

    What is Accreditation?

Accreditation is a status granted to an institution that meets or exceeds the stated criteria of educational quality. The purposes of accreditation are to assess and enhance the educational quality of an institution, to assure consistency in institutional operations, to promote institutional improvement, and to provide for public accountability.

Why Accreditation is Important for a University?

Being an accredited University gives the assurance to the public, in particular to prospective students that this University has been found to meet the quality education standards and criteria.

How is it beneficial for the students?

Students receive the following benefits with an accredited university:

Degrees from an ICfHE Accredited Institution can be evaluated as equivalent to U.S. regionally accredited degrees by Academic Credential Assessment Corporation (ACAC) . ACAC is a member of AACRAO and NAFSA giving our evaluations wide acceptance throughout the world.

Only accredited degrees can be evaluated as equivalent to U.S. regionally accredited degrees, UK, Royal Charter, and other country degree equivalencies, therefore your accreditation through ICfHE together with ACAC equivalency reports will add tremendous value to your degrees.

PanAmerica University has submitted documentation of degree programs, descriptions of course/course equivalency completion, curriculum, catalog, assessment manual, policies and all required criteria meeting the very high standards required to gain this recognition.

PanAmerica University upholds the highest academic, professional and legal standards of higher education credentialing in the Distance Education arena.

Was it ACAC that came up in the Georgia teachers' case? I know they used a phony St. Regis verification service to fool their employers.

Anyone can be a member of NAFSA and AACRAO it just requires a membership fee.

I believe on or all of the "evaluators" of ACAC have degree's from SRU.

    it was CCI, not ACAC

No- ACAC didn't exist then. All but one of the Georgia teachers had their degrees evaluated by Sheila Danzig's "Career Consultants International" enterprise.

There is more information in the above link concerning ACAC. Opening the ICfHE web page causes my computer to display this: "To display language characters correctly, you need to install the following components: Traditional Chinese Text Display" thanks to the meta tag "Content-Language" content="zh-tw" in the page header. So perhaps the ICfHE site's author is Chinese, and is using another web page as a starting template.

    Pan America University

Pan America University is using a name that is very close to a name that was used by a real, accredited Texas university for many years ... Pan American University in Edinburg, Texas. That university merged into The University of Texas System and is now called The University of Texas - Pan American. There are many graduates who have degrees under the old name who undoubtedly do NOT want their degrees confused with another university, especially if validity is an issue.

    M.A., Texas A&M University - Kingsville
    M.Ed., Stephen F. Austin University

    Forgot about UTPA . . .

They should force this "university" to change it's name as the legitimate Trinities in the UK and Texas did to TC&U. . .
