    Stumbled across this bit of information listed among 2004 presentations on the Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory Web page:

    I didn't know SGUI had any faculty at all, much less an Electrical Engineering Department!

    SGUI graduate a Nobel prize applicant

    The discovery of Mr. Todd sent me to Google, where I found this:

    She goes on to state that because she did so well on the 12 papers she did for her master's degree, the President of SGUI offerred her a Ph.D.

    Some people are just born lucky.
