    Will wonders never cease?

There is a new addition to the Saint Regis flotilla: the "St Regis University School of Martial Arts" under the smiling countenance of "Dean of Studies, Professor Steve Ho."

Yes, you can get a doctorate from SRUSMA, and yes, it is a distance learning program, though apparently you can show up in Hong Kong if you want to have the authentic experience of getting punched out. (I can imagine the DL version sending its customers jack-in-the-boxes containing spring-loaded boxing gloves.)

Steve Ho also runs the St. Regis University School of Business between rounds.

I imagine SRU is still signing up affiliate schools. Anybody wanna to run a DL ballet school? How about a DL acting school? I knew someone (he was a jerk) who learned to tune pianos by mail ("I'll drop you a note!" says the professor) so maybe anything is possible.

Everybody was kung fu fighting, those cats were fast as lightning.
In fact it was a little bit frightning, but they fought with expert timing.

John: Alternatively, they mail you a 2-by-4, you smash it in half with your hand, and mail it back.

I have emailed to ask how to register the course as I'm not a martial artist. The course centre requires me to come to Hong Kong to learn the practical course for two years or other recognized schools who must have Wing Chun qualified instructors as my teacher during this period. In other words, only the subjects related to philosophical areas can be delivered online basis. The centre stressing the practical parts are only in classroom training. Only qualified Wing Chun teachers or Sifu with certified evidences can exempt the practical parts but still need to complete other subjects they have not learned before.

    Apollo CI?

One wonders how exacting are SRUSMA's standards for the offered certifications from its clients. Could, for example, someone send them a document from Richard J. Hoyer's "Homeland Security University and International College of Homeland Security Project"*? How about a certification from the "Apollo Certification Institute," a "division of government accredited James Monroe University?"

    Re: Apollo CI?

Because I myself like martial arts much, I had already asked your above similar questions. The centre replied me exemptions will be granted only for those graduates from qualified Wing Chun, not others, martial schools. It provided me some websites for reference, such as http://members.tripod.com/~Wing_Chun/ and asked me to use search engines to find a lot of schools teaching Wing Chun. However, those graduated from Yip Man Wing Chun's family, the Master of Bruce Lee, will be considered in preference. That is why qualified Wing Chun graduates, not Judo or others, because the degrees are Wing Chun major, may apply for exemptions in practical techniques but still need to study what they have not learned. The course is operating in cooperation with some Wing Chun martial associations in Hong Kong that all are from Yip Man Wing Chun Family.

I think the course structure is interesting because general martial arts courses will not have generic subjects of law, psychology ... etc. Moreover, I myself like Bruce Lee and his martial philosophy.
