    Hello

Is there any "difference" between California Pacific University and Pacific Western University?
As I know, both Universities are state approved!?

    Thanks for your assistance!

As has been discussed here (do a search), there are two PWUs that have been run for years from the same office in California, one state-approved (one subject only), one ostensibly in Hawaii, a 'rubber stamp' state (which, nonetheless, sued them some years ago).

CPU has been a decent, responsible California-approved school, never sued by anyone (I believe), and rarely, if ever, called a diploma mill -- although the degrees remain illegal in Oregon and 4 or 5 other states. (Wonder why they don't go through the Oregon approval process; it is inexpensive and fast.)

Robin, as I had stated on another post of yours, CPU is going to be your best bang for the buck if a State Approved CA school will meet both your current and future needs. I have reviewed their materials and course requirements as I did enroll briefly, but chose at this time not to complete the program due to my current job responsibilities.

They are and have been recognized to be a good State school, but keep in mind that the words, Degree Mill, tend to be focused on schools that lack accreditation.

They are on the Oregon list as well...Why they choose not to at least get off of it is beyond me.

As far as PWU is concerned, I have only heard negative things about them and besides, I believe their tuition is alot more than CPU anyway.

    Good luck in your decision.

I started a DBA with Cal-Pacific in 1995 and finished it awhile back. It's an excellent school and the credential has some utility outside academic contexts. (I have no first hand experience with PWU). However, I wonder why you are considering only these two schools, as there are many doctoral programs in business available here in the States through distance learning these days. Write me offline if you want to discuss: [email protected] .

    Best wishes,

    Dave
